My fiance and I went together for an interview and we were given a white paper requesting additional documents. One of the four things to send is the Passport, is that a good sign? do they always request the passport? I am really nervous and scared. does anyone know if they always ask for the passport with the documents? Please Please pray for us.

11-25-2011 - NOA1 - Applied for K-1 Fiancee Visa for my Canadian love living in Vancouver from Pakistan, sent package to California
04-23-2012 - NOA2 - Application Approved, waiting for interview date.
07-23-2012 - NOA3 - Email from Vancouver consulate that we are receiving letter to send packet 3.
07-23-2012 - NOA3 - Packet 3 - Letter received to submit DS-230 and Checklist to get a interview scheduled.
12-07-2012 - Interview - Received white paper requesting more documents.

04-10-2013 - Sent additional documents via Loomis for Van Consulate.

05-10-2013 - Email stating passport is at Loomis for pick up.

05-13-2013 - Passport returned requesting 1. Police Reports which we have previously submitted 2 times and also stated 2. Administrative Processing.

08-29-2013 - Received letter stating Visa Denied due to Moral Turpitude, Also note that we can apply for wavier I-601

12-31-2013 - Receipt date for I-601 Waiver - Waiting for results.

07-10-2014 - Interview, Visa Approved, Administrative Processing.... waiting....

8-1-2014 - Visa Issued

11-18-2014- flight booked for Fiance

1-2015 -Married, Registered for SSN, Registered for AOS, Work Permit and Advance Parole

10-2015 - AOS interview, approved.

Approximately 4 year journey to get everything done.

 

8-2017- Filed for Green Card - USCIS I-751 Petition (Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status )

 

Waiting to hear back on getting a Green Card....

What else were you asked for?

Why didn't you bring your passport with you to the interview? I don't know the ins and outs of a K-1 visa but for CR-1 it is one of the items you are supposed to bring because they keep it to put the visa in.

What were your instructions when you were preparing for the interview?

You are supposed to take your passport to your interview.

I wouldn't say it's good or bad news until after you send in your papers.

Was it the beneficiary's passport?? As noted, that is a required document for a K-1 interview, and the passport will be held by the consulate until delivered with visa attached. I'm surprised you were allowed in without a passport. You received a 221g administrative review form. At this point, you weren't denied or approved. You need to give them all the items requested on the 221g before your case can move forward. Good luck, and don't let your nerves get the best of you.

If you look at the link, a current valid passport is one of the requirements of things to bring to the interview.

Did you not download the packet and bring everything you were required to bring?

What else did they request?

Without more details we can’t really tell you much.

Sorry for the confusion. We went to the interview and we were given a white slip because they needed additonal documents, such as original birth certificate. Now they did not keep my fiancee passport they returned it to him. When he got his original certificate they asked that he mail it to them alongside with his passport. Sent the documents and passport requested, still have not heard back. What should I do? How do I follow up? Also my case number is not working when I enter it into USCIS website.
