Yup you are right, he wasn't that smart in thinking that it was all over once he got the card. I wonder how far he could get with photos and texts if he has any though.

No he came back after 7 months being there since he was worried that staying overseas longer will impact him negatively. Yes, we are divorced now and I am looking to find answers here not be asked why I care what will happen to him or not, that's not why i spent time posting here. Leave that up to me please why I care or not...I am trying to understand what he has in store for based on the info/situation I have provided here. You are right in that its his issue, but it does not stop me from understanding the type of situation he is in.

Well no one has brought up the affidavit of support. Did you sponsor him or you had a co-sponsor? I know i would want to know his plans. For people to say move on. Ummm I would need to know it only right and responsible.

And yes people do get denied their 751 for varies reasons. But as they said they can do it without the USC. Hopefully you sending documents to USCIS and ICE this might give them a heads up.

Wish you all the best.

From what I see is that people here ASK QUESTIONS.

I am here to find answers in trying to figure out if in my situation my ex can get his g.c. through me or not. It's really none of your business how or when I should move on or whether I should inquire about his situation or not. I do not think you have a right to tell me that I should not ask question here about i-751 process pertaining to the situation I found myself in with my ex. Why even spend your time to teach me what to think or what to do or what I should be asking or not. It's like people have nothing else to do. Instead of wasting a few minutes of your time writing me your comment, you could have given your input into the situation...that would have been nicer and more productive thing to do on our behalf.

I do not understand how its any of your business in here to teach me about moving on or not inquiring about my ex when. Cease all the questions in here from other members and I will cease mine. the way you mention that I am a US citizen as if US citizens are banned from coming to this site.

Questions are asked to get more clarity. You telling us how u lived with mom and dad really helps us help you. Also you have to realize you may have done all you did and alert USCIS and ICE. But you have no idea what he has done, i.e. filed a VAWA or claim against you. Walk very carefully. Do not seek him out. All you can do is wonder and maybe he will tell you whats up someday.

The reason people are asking WHY you care is because it helps give the correct answer. There is obviously something specific you want to know, outside of "will he be approved or not?" because that's simply not up to us. It appears you're dancing around exactly what you want to know.

USCIS takes everything into consideration. He could try claiming you were abusive and controlling and he had to "escape". He could claim that you didn't LET him get a joint bank account with you, or let him leave the house. That you wanted to control him. That it took his friends/family months to save up to help him escape, which is why he waited, and that he went back to earn more money to start his life here properly. Whether that would work ... don't know. But it's been tried before.

If your concern is the I-864, you will NEVER KNOW whether he is approved or not, unless he tell you. USCIS will not tell you anything.

If you simply want to know if he'll be successful or not, we don't know. We don't know what evidence he will submit, we don't know what story he will tell. There are people who have been approved with very little evidence. With very little evidence he will get an interview. They will ask him what happened. Whether he gets approved or not is up to the IO. If he's not he could try appealing... doesn't mean he leaves right away.

Like the others I agree that you should try and distance yourself BUT if you've been used though that's going to be hard to do. I'm sure you want to see him kicked out and punished but the anger will just eat you up. If you're concerned for your safety and that's one of the reasons why you're concerned, see an attorney (or the police or court house) about an Order of Protection (or whatever it's called in your state).

We all wish we could tell you more I'm sure, but unfortunately the only answer is "it's up to him what kind of evidence he presents and what story he goes with". Could he be denied? Yes. Could he be approved? Yes. You'll never know unless he tells you.

^^^ What Vanessa said. Very well put and without the perceived vitriol that is probably emanating from my responses (even though that's not my intent).

'Shilaci' - Everyone has an opinion - My response to your question is simple - If I were in your shoes I would make sure the appropriate officials know that I was scammed - Giving the details and hope they do the right thing. As far as how you feel and why you feel that way? I'll let you own that, you've earned the right to feel however you choose to feel. Anyone with an opinion about that should just move on to another topic - none of us has a right to correct anything about what you are going through - you didn't give us that permission -

She has every right to want to cut this guy at the knees legally. I wish I could help!

Yet, legally, she doesn't have any tools to do so. See the irony here? Maybe you do, maybe you don't, but the whole point of this thread (that I imagine will be closed very soon) is moot.

 thank you StephAnn!

If people can not answer her question by the information that she provided because it was so "vague" then move on to the next one! What purpose is it to askher why she cares what happens to her ex? The question is plain and simple and the best person to answer her as she said is someone who has been through it. Someone who maybe has been in a similar situation maybe 3-5 years ago and found out what happened to their ex. But since so far there hasn't been anyone, the best thing you can do (if you really want to help) is answer the question at hand. She has the right to include or omit whatever info she wants, if you can't help then as I said before - on to the next one!

Thanks for some of the support in here.

I understand that he could claim whatever he wants, but from what I heard, when you file for VAWA and claim abuse, you need to prove that you entered the marriage in good faith. Also, in my situation..assuming he claims that...I am the one who filed for divorce right away, not him to claim that he got away from me with a divorce because I was this or that. I dunno...perhaps they will see that if I filed for divorce then obviously I felt that i got scammed and caught him soon enough. it would be amazing indeed if he gets away just by saying 'well, she abused me and chained me to the house' and have the uscis believe that I could do that to a guy who is 6'2 220 pounds...sounds just too strange and I do hope that the USCIS understand that anyone who claims abuse should really look into. I understand also that mostly it is women who claim the abuse, so how strange would it seem that a tall and nicely built guy who works out everyday claims abuse. Anyways, I will do my best to have this in his file.

Have you reported to USIC and ICE the marriage was sham and it was mainly for purpose of immigration?

ICE/USCIS only seriously considers reports that have concrete proof, and even then.... no one does anything.
