What a buzz! I sent in the DS 230 and the DS 2001, must have been less than 2 weeks ago. I can't remember exactly, but I think it was sometime beginning of this month. I didn't have a case number yet but it arrived the next day, along with the I-130 approval.

So I was thinking another 3 months on top of that until the interview, but we booked the medicals anyway (for this coming Monday). Meanwhile I've been so worried about getting these visas in time for hte baby being born (due Feb 20th).

But this morning we got our interview date through the mail!!!! How exciting! Date is Dec 15th (or 14th, can't remember from the top of my head).

Only thing I'm freaking out about now, is we don't have any money left. We don't even have enough for the medicals on Monday and I'm trying to beg borrow or steal to get it in time. Now we have to get all the cash for getting to London again (flights, hotels, visa fees etc, for a family of 4) in Dec. I hope it works out. I guess no one's getting any presents from us this Christmas!

But I'm not complaining about it. I'm thrilled about this, and it's such a relief to have an interview date.

Yipeee.

Thanks guys! Jess, did you get the packet 3 stuff yet?

Or have you gone ahead and sent in the paperwork?

I don't know if you're in a hurry or not, but anyway it seems the processing time isn't very long just now so you should be next probably. I can't believe it's gone so fast.

we got packet 3 a little over a week ago and sent it off, so they should have it by now. Since we're going to the US Dec15 through New Yrs I asked for an interview date for when we return. I hope they give us one in Jan....

What was in packet 4? Good luck with coming up with the money!

Oh well that's good Jess, seems to be all working out for you.

Packet 4 just had the interview date, and information about the interview (where to go etc) and info about the medical incase we hadn't booked it yet.

Just out of curiosity, what is your timeline?

Hi, sorry I didn't see this before.

Also sorry I've never put my timeline on here. I never have quite figured out how to do that!

Ok this is not exact, as I haven't written it down, so give or take a few days for each of these, but it's roughly as follows:

July 30th - sent off I-130s

August 7th - I-130s filed with USCIS and we receive our notification postcard a few days later

Nov 5th - sent in the DS-2001 part 1 and the DS 2001

Nov 6th - received our packet 3 stuff, which I took to mean it was I-130 approvals

Nov 13th - received packet 4 - interview scheduled for Dec 14th

Nov 20th - had medicals

Nov 24-ish - received our actual I-130 approvals, I have no idea why they took so long to arrive!

Ok now that I've gone to the bother of typing this up I might just go figure out the timeline thing and set mine up
