RFE and originals

Hello everyone!

I would really appreciate any reply that will answer my question :

My fiance and I are August filers at Vermont Service Center (VSC) and we received an RFE on February for different reasons such as no biographical data pages submitted to support the passport stamps and visas and also no dates and locations shown on the back of each picture of us together. We sent out the requested additional documents 2 days ago and now are waiting to get notified. We submitted some original documents with both the petition and the RFE (like boarding passes along with some documentary evidences), do you guys think that we shouldn't? Actually we have no idea how things happen and we are new to VisaJourney! Does the USCIS forward the package of the approved petitioner just as it is to the National Visa Center and then to the local consulate or do they keep all or some of the documents?

Thank you and good luck to everyone!

Iwhen I went to my husband's interview, I could see the folder that the officer had and it looked like the same one we submitted. I can't say if every page was exact, but I would guess it was. That's why its a good idea to give the beneficiary a copy to review so there are no curve balls for them when they get to the interview.

It would have been better to make copies of what you submitted in case something gets misplaced or you need it in the future.

The originals needed for NVC are marriage licenses/divorce decrees, police report, court , and birth certificates.

It's my understanding that USCIS forwards your petition and proof for the consular to review, along with all documents. If there is something that is specific that you need returned , maybe your fiance could ask about it at the interview. I know for marriage interviews they return the original marriage certificate and keep the photocopy at the interview.

Hi,

Its always best to send copies only just in case originals get lost then you will have no proof at all and they do not return anything back to you because my husband gave them some original proofs like cards and letters that I had sent to him for example and they would not return anything that he submitted to them. Good luck through your journey and I hope all goes great.

I was told by the nvc just recent;y that only your petition is forwarded to them only. but if you need anything from ther uscis of originals you can get them by filling out a for number g884 and get it to them.

just fill out form #G844 and get it to the USCIS ASAP>
