My fiancé Allen lives in Wyoming and I live in Ontario, Canada. We are applying for a visa for me to go and live with him in Wyoming. When my fiancé filed the petition I was living in my home until it sold. When it sold, I moved to another place and told the post office to reroute my mail there. Now, I found out that the rental place is selling and I will have to move again, and again have my mail rerouted to another address.

My question is.....immigration knows my address where I was, but doesn't know my address where I am now, and if the visa doesn't come in soon, they don't know the address where I will be. Is letting the post office reroute my mail enough?? Or is there somewhere I can contact to let immigration know where I am, and then call them again to let them know where I will be??

I hope this is detailed enough. People have told me to change the address on line, but the change of address form is only for Americans, and also for when I move there to change my address.

Also, does a FedEx, or UPS truck deliver the forms from immigration, or does it come through the mail?? I'm not at the address that they know, and I am so afraid of it being sent back....I've already waited 7 months. Please, any answers would be helpful. Thank you. Karin

Moved from K-1 process to Regional forums as there are a lot of Canada specific things in here. OP should get proper accurate answers from Canadian answers in regional forums.

I have the same issue. I've been moving every couple of months. You won't be getting any mail until you get the packet 3 from the embassy/consulate. Once you get the NOA2, they'll send your case to the NVC and you can call them to get your case number. Then you can call the consulate and give them your case number and your new address (and also ask them to email your packet 3, so you can get going on it).

For us, we attempted to notify NVC after NOA2 about the address change. They updated their system, but our package had come and gone in a day and they said I should contact Montreal to make sure they have the right address to send things. I (petitioner) contacted them via email, and they proceeded to communicate Packet 3 and 4 through my email address. My fiancee never received a thing via mail or email. I was actually happy they did that. I think it sped things up, since I received packet 3 less than 24 hours after I contacted them about the address change and there was no waiting for snail mail. My only real irritation was using their website to pay for the visa, despite being the US government, and paying in USD, I was still hit with an 3% international transaction fee by my CC company. :bonk: I was able to talk them into reversing it, just something to keep in mind when paying for it.
