My very clever fiancee had an idea, I wanted to put it out there to see who was interested.

We were commiserating about the CSC delays, and how to bring people's attention to it.

She suggested doing videos (or a single video) telling our stories, sharing our tears, showing how the delays are affecting us and the people waiting to join us, to put a human face on something that can be easily seen and shared to as wide a group as possible, and move the public...."Our love is asking for help" as she put it.

I think the media and government officials would take more notice, as well as people that may not be directly affected by it.

If you're interested, have ideas, willing to contribute, let me know. I'd be happy to compile them and put it all together.

Do you really think you can do a better job on the video or promoting it than the ones being made for those poor lawbreaking illegal aliens that are whining the the US doesn't throw open the gates to them and their illegal activities ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

No reason not to try putting together a video and seeing if we can make it go viral. Why not? What do we lose? I'm in. (As you can see, I am willing to take ANY action to see change happen)

Glad to hear it! You never know what will go viral. Thing is, you can't expect people to care about the issue if they don't know about it.

This is half of the heart of the matter. The other half is that the DACA applications were given priority.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

This is half of the heart of the matter. The other half is that the DACA applications were given priority.

For right now, I don't know what I can do rather just wait. Missing each other sucks, and we don't know how long we have to wait. The thing is we don't have a lot of options, so I'm will try anything that might make a difference, so we can be together. It doesn't matter if it's stupid or not, and we will fight for it. FOR LOVE. That is true love! (that's the message that we have to send.

I suppose we can all argue the merits of direction, and dive into the illegals question, but to a degree it dilutes the message, and may create more enemies than supporters. Yes, it's important to show what's causing the delays, but I think it can be done talking more about "Fairness in the process".

Conceptually for a video I can see something like

Text and graphics that explain the problem and the causes, then some quick cuts of people telling their story,

“I am Ben, I've been waiting over 8 months, I've had to postpone my wedding, and I still have no idea when I'll be with my fiancee”

“I am Isabella, my son was born, and his father still can't hold him”

Things like that, to put a human face on the issue.

and finally a call to action, of what people can do. The easier to take action, the better.

If anyone else has some better ideas, I'm happy to hear them!

Maybe send email to NPR ( National public Radio ). If they get enough they might talk about what is happening.

Maybe the liberal media will help, only DACA.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

It could be possible to record videos of couples, say, during Skype communication saying one strong line: Tired of waiting, for example, or any other one. As soon as we get around 15-20 couples we can produce a video and try to distribute it all over internet in hopes it goes viral. Of course we need to apply some hollywood techniques to the cause, and make an accent on extreme hardship of the situation, showing the line of actual miles of distance between couples, and showing last time they saw each other. Add some good sound track to this and you got an emotional response.

I may have something. I have a former co-worker and friend who works in video production. He has a baby son so he is kind of busy, but he is between jobs right now. He is also someone who appreciates activism as he was involved in OWS. I may reach out to him and see if he has a machine and good video editing tools to put something together. I will probably need to pay him, which is okay if we can work on the project together. I'll let you guys know if it's something that comes together.

I work in Hollywood in film production and my fiance is also in the film industry (currently in London, but joining me in Los Angeles obviously) and I think we'd both be willing to use our skills to help if there was enough interest. I'd be happy to coordinate and all that stuff and he is a director/editor and we have a very nice home editing suite as well as an office one on his end. If there's interest, I'd be willing to pitch in and I'm sure he'd do so as well.

I am the USC/petitioner.

UK applications get processed fairly quickly (based on Igor's List), I would look for a NOA2 in about six months from your NOA1.

Do you really think country has anything to do with processing time? There are plenty of people from non-fraud Western countries like the UK, Australia, Canada etc, waiting 7 months plus at CSC, country of beneficiary has nothing to do with it.

Take a look at Igor's List from CSC, a majority of the approvals are from western European countries, UK is not a security threat so the process is fairly quick.
