2 letters for your entire first paragraph..and the first sentence of the second...BS.

i'm not apologizing for anything. i haven't done anything to apologize for. what battle marvin?

Of course, instead of trying to dispute what I am saying, you are calling me a liar. I see you and Danno belong to the same group, talk all sorts of noise, then when the facts come rolling in, either stop posting or just post some random sentence without actually debating the facts. What part is BS, do tell?

i know you disagree and sometimes that's just how it is. but please don't apologize for anyone who uses the word. i have my own history with that word, but that really doesn't matter here.

i believe that the offense is primarily generational. just as my parents had to explain what the word meant to me (out of fear), i've had to explain to my son and nephew why it isn't okay for them to say it because they hear it every day in the music they listen to and in movies/television. you say it isn't cool, and i know why it isn't. but for the younger generation - it already is cool, to them. i've had black preteens look me straight in the eye with bewilderment as to why their white friends can't use the word. they honestly do not know what the big deal is.

i can't say that all these kids are ignorant by choice. or using the word because they know how horrible it is but being cool is more important. that just isn't true. they're good kids. words do change meaning over time. thing is, there really isn't another word we can compare it to. there is no other word that holds so much. i will never be able to say that word, even in private, and not have my stomach in knots. i think that's true of the majority of older generations. but the younger ones? it's a completely different word..

The one thing I can't figure out is how it became cool. I know that put the a on the end and somehow that makes it ok. I will never know why.

1st of all i'm SMOKE & i don't belong to any group. so, you can stop trying to lump me in with anyone else. i did dispute it, i called it BS. because it is, like everything else you post about race.

And for your information when I said the word I meant a southern, county person. But I know all you won't see it that way. But on this board I have apologized when I was wrong, can you say the same thing? Or are you going to keep trying to fight a battle you know you can't win straight up?

I can appreciate your fair mindedness on the topic.

IMO Words have meanings and often times more than one.

And I think you might agree we can't really compare these slur words because all slurring words have their own meaning and history...

The basics of language is knowing how words will be received

and in the use of Red-Neck, most often when you hear it used here and commonly by the left, there is no doubt the intent is to slur and label this group.....most often by using the group as "negative association".

In other words... to insult a person they "associate" him with being a-redneck. (I guess kinda like calling someone a ** when you know they are not)

So context is everything right? I mean you can call a women a "girl" and it is commonly meant as affection.... or you can use that word to belittle.

Actually, you have me confused with someone else. Look at who started this thread, or any other one where black folks are somehow brought into the conversation. I'm still confused about the Solar Panel one, when Mr. Big Dog was talking about his personal wealth and somehow he decided to balance that against black people. Or anytime when we talk about gun violence and he has to compare it to blacks. But it seems like on those threads, you aren't calling out anyone else that make borderline or straight out racist remarks. You focus on the black guy, now why is that?

I was the one that mentioned: When discussing the state of the economy, despite Mr Big Dogs personal economic boom, many others perhaps most,

are still left behind and I cited the segment that has been hit the hardest -Blacks.

It seemed to me then, and now not out of place.

Give me the positive connotation of the n word. Or the w word for hispanics, or the c word for asians. Tell me that you can say that word to one of them and explain that you mean it in a positive way. Go head, I'll wait here.

And I'll give you a bonus: The reason I used that tem; We have a young kid here named ITSN Norris, we call him Chuck for obvious reasons. He comes from Kentucky. One day I was on here ranting like I always do, and he came over and started reading over my shoulder. I asked him has he ever dealt with racism(he's white) up close since he asked about what I was writing. His face turned white(no pun intended). I told him to relax, I wasn't going to hurt him, just trying to get some insight. He said" well, about 10 years ago, I saw a black man being drug to death by a bunch of rednecks in a pick up truck" his words. In my mind I saw some country boys with the big belt buckles and the trucker hats.

But Danno, have you noticed, in almost every thread, you always focus on black folks. Gun violence, no problem because it's a black problem. Economy, look at black families. Killers, if they are white, you have nothing to say, cause in the Adam Lanza thread you never talked about no father in his life, or listening to rap music. But if you think the perp is black, you call it out loud and proud. You say you have no issues with black people, but even when someone puts it in black in white that racism is the problem, pure and simple, you still argue it until you can't anymore.

What's the 'c' word for asians?

Thanks. Someone else already filled me in via PM. It's actually been along time since I've heard that one. Maybe it's because I'm married to an asian girl.

Say what, Danno already said he posted it, keep up.

SInce I am on the left, I didn't give him a pass, I called him out for it in my first post. Or did you read that? And unlike some people who love calling folks outside of their names, I don't do that. I asked why you tend to focus on my posts, but when others who clearly have racist tendencies, you are no where to be seen. I won't call you a racist, that's too easy.

do those pedals go forward too?

no sir. you said 'You focus on the black guy, now why is that?' in the last line of a quoted response to me. you didn't mistake me for danno. you didn't ask me why i'm focused on you. you said 'You focus on the black guy, now why is that'. i told you why, because you're full of it. its always race baiting & poor me with you. you won't say it because you know its not true. i won't call you an albophobe, because its too easy. but, its true.
