You can make generalizations all you'd like. My point about making generalizations when it comes to murderers is that I feel you should ask the same questions of ALL of them, not just a few. Let's ask questions about a black murderer's mental health, not just a white one. Let's ask questions about a white murderer's upbringing, financial situation, parental situation ... not just a black one.

You are judging my immediate reaction to this story, yet your immediate reaction to crimes like the one you're talking about is to guess what racial profile the murderer fits. And you're also ATTEMPTING to tell me that I condone the behavior in the story, when I clearly do not.

When it comes to arguments or disagreements, read what people are actually trying to say rather than what you believe they say. When you react to imaginary viewpoints that the other person doesn't actually hold, your argument loses a bit of value.

I agree with all that 100%. I think the issue is there are 2 sets of rules depending which party you happen to support. Maybe not with you, but that doesn't seem to be the case with the media and other folks. If a conservative says something like this, he's a hood wearing, KKK loving, cross burning, redenck. If a liberal says something like this, he's simply ignorant or whatever. I think that's the issue some people have.

I apologized because I felt like the word wasn't offensive since I've seen it used as a word of pride in my workplace. Also, isn't there a comedy show that does you might be a redneck jokes? But my point is I was unaware that it was offensive to those on here. The difference is, one, I can apologize if I am wrong, two, the people that use the other racial slurs KNOW they are wrong.
