I know blacks still have a hard time in certain areas. I manage many in the lower socio-ecomic rung. I love them like brothers but many time they are there own worse enemy, other times... My boss basically pushes this black guy on us. He is married to a white woman who does their nails etc. She calls me up to tell me she is giving him extra vacation right off the bat. I explain I think this is a bad idea becuse we have never done that before in the history of our company with hourly people.

Her reply-- Well maybe he will be a good influence because he is not a ghetto black like the rest of your employees. I swear before god if I thought I had a prayer and not lose a very good job I would drag her racist sexist ####### before the EOCC>. Then she proceeds to blow our top pay out of the water and gives him a big fat raise after a few short months, even though we told her he was a marginal employee. Right now he is suspened for screwing up.

Same boss tells me after a woman blows up at me for no reason and she backs her and embarasses me in front of my peers. I call her own it one on one. She tells me....I have to defend her becuse she is a woman and I am a sexist.. All you men have made me that way ...

I can't stand special treatment, if I can't earn it I don't want it. If I'm not good enough, I don't deserve it.

But I get what you are saying, honestly when I was younger, I didn't like talking to black girls. Because it was always about thugs, drug dealers, and gangsters. I know not all of them were like that, but back then I ran into quite a few. I was always told, you're too positive, you need to stop acting white. It was hard trying to stay within a group that glorifies everything I was against. I think black women are some of the strongest women in the world, but their strength is misdirected. That's why I am shocked to hear that I fear white folks. I typically feel comfortable with a mixed crowd.

Yep, sad thing is, in a normal light, at some point since retirement is so close, I would have considered living there. But now I can't, just on the principle of living in the same state.
