No i think it was culturally motivated. What I am tired of is the double standard. I apologized because I felt like the word wasn't offensive since I've seen it used as a word of pride in my workplace. Also, isn't there a comedy show that does you might be a redneck jokes? But my point is I was unaware that it was offensive to those on here. The difference is, one, I can apologize if I am wrong, two, the people that use the other racial slurs KNOW they are wrong.

NO redneck does not offend me. So since white people have a show and use the term redneck it's ok for others to say it.. There is a parallel there somewhere now what is it ??

Actually no I didn't. Because I have never seen someone take offense when it has been called out. But let's play Danno's game shall we? If the word is so offensive, why does my boss identify himself as one? Why are there shirts, hats, bumper stickers that people buy? Why is there a line of jokes based on the word? I can't seem to find you might be a(fill in the blank for any racial slur) show on TV? Someone said there is a song called I am a redneck woman. So educate me, how is this word a derogatory term when an entire group of people identify with it? I forgot, isn't there a tv show called my big fat redneck vacation?

And before you go there, because I know between Danno, RHR, you and Himher, someone will say, well black people call themselves the n word all the time and there are shirts and hats with it on it. Those folks are ignorant and I can't fix stupid. But if you can find me a TV show that shows a racial slur in it, then I will concede the argument.

It is quite common for people with animosity towards other races to be turned on by their women.

And FYI, I haven't dated a black woman since 1997. Not that I don't think they're beautiful, but being stationed overseas for 12 years, I didn't have a lot options to date within my race. I was married to my first wife since 1999, we met in Germany, I dated a couple of german women before we settled down and had a family. When we got divorced in 2008, I was still in Japan, so when I met my wife, it was game over. And the funniest thing about your post? Most every person I meet that's black say the same thing. I act white, because I don't act ignorant. I don't want that label. And if Smoke would actually go back and read my posts, I don't rant against white people, I am trying to dispel the stereotypes.

Give me the positive connotation of the n word. Or the w word for hispanics, or the c word for asians. Tell me that you can say that word to one of them and explain that you mean it in a positive way. Go head, I'll wait here.

And I'll give you a bonus: The reason I used that tem; We have a young kid here named ITSN Norris, we call him Chuck for obvious reasons. He comes from Kentucky. One day I was on here ranting like I always do, and he came over and started reading over my shoulder. I asked him has he ever dealt with racism(he's white) up close since he asked about what I was writing. His face turned white(no pun intended). I told him to relax, I wasn't going to hurt him, just trying to get some insight. He said" well, about 10 years ago, I saw a black man being drug to death by a bunch of rednecks in a pick up truck" his words. In my mind I saw some country boys with the big belt buckles and the trucker hats.
