Hello Vj I have a problem. My husband from Ghana has been here 1 year. I have been notice this same number on our phone bill that he always call. I read an email that indicates that its a woman and child back in Ghana. Then I also read in his email that after he gets his paperwork file next year for his 10yr card that he would be leaving me. My question is what can I do to prevent him from going to the next process. It seems to me that he didn't come here with good attention. Please give me advice. I have made an appointment with infopass.

Do you intend to divorce him? If so then you should also make sure to contact uscis and explain the situation this way it will become very difficult for him to file for ROC. So sorry for this horrible situation.

Call the number! Email the email! If you believe this is true and do not trust him. Divorce him ASAP and contact the USCIS that he was fraudulent in your marriage. You can divorce because of fraud.

hannah he can not get gc without your papers of support and this you have to sign. if you truly believe what you read in emails as much as it hurts call ice they will act quickly so you get over it before you get more hurt. and do not lead on you know as we all know some men not take being caught in a big lie to well

Before he figures out that you know , print the phone bills and emails. Make more than one copy, send one to USCIS one to ICE keep one. Divorce him. If you don't he will file against you and he who files first has the most control over the outcome. Don't stay in a relationship with the idea of revenge. If he has play acted this long to get "his family" to the US play acting a little longer will not bother him and you will be setting yourself up for a fake fight, getting arrested and him filing VAWA on you. Do not forget to change passwords and remove/close all accounts he can access before he knows the jig is up or he will empty them first.

Take a record of everything that proves he's been fraudulent. Copy it and send it to the USCIS and ICE. Be proactive about this! If you want you can wait until the 2 year mark and present it at an interview but why put yourself through that. You can divorce on fraud. When you divorce you claim FRAUD as the reason for the divorce. I highly doubt the USCIS is going to grant him a 10 year green card when he's been divorced because of fraud. He obviously did NOT enter your marriage in good faith. Get everything you need to prove that.

Adding - make a copy of all you sent to USCIS and ICE and mail to the U.S. Embassy in Ghana - consular section. They could tie it to his record so if/when he petitions for the wife? and child they have fraud indicators listed.

I am really sad about this. First of all for the OP who obviously got scammed and must feel betrayed by the man she was in love with. And secondly for all the honest couples going through the same visa journey and have to wait longer and longer to be reunited with their loved ones. If there was not that much fraud, it would be so much easier for all of us and we wouldn't have to go through all of this.
