Ali,

I know how you feel we just have to wait. Nothing is going to move it any faster. Good luck and hope we all have good news soon.

NOW I HAVE MY I 130 APPROVED ...SO IS BETTER TO START THE CR1 OR JUST WAITING FOR THE K3 AFTER THE ADMINISTRATIVE PROSSCING ..?

PLEASE SUPPORT ME

THE EGYPTION SAMEH

Sameh,

I think you should also persue the I-130. I have seen where when you persue the

I-130 in the mist of k-3 stuff. it can Kick you off AR/AP. you need your CR1 ultimately.

since you are going thought this AP/AR now. when its compleated you get your

CR1. so you dont have to AOS in the USA..

Hi Im Jackie... My husband is also on AP.. The interview was Feb. 6, 2006 on the I-129 in Casablanca, Morocco.. We also have an I-130 approval on March 1, 2006... We are filing the K-3 visa as well... I have a question what is the CR1...

I have a question what is the CR1...

Jackie a CR1 visa is a marriage visa where you are doing the AOS before coming into the states.

Mary

K3 is marriage visa but you have to file AP advance parole for travel, and EAD before you can work. The CR1 handles all of this and your spouse can work within weeks instead of months. Edited to add this to my comments.

Wish they had my husband do the fingerprints before the interview just like the medical exam and all the other paperwork gathering so we didn't get such a poor explaination why no visa was given the day of the interview or when we can get it.

Yeah, ha! Wouldn't that be nice! They Embassy has to know there is a name hit etc, when your paperwork reaches them. Between the time you spend waiting for the interview to be set and the the actual interview date, it would be nice to also get your fingerprints done beforehand!

My lawyer was able to talk to the FBI personalle. But the were not much help. He was told that it might take another 60 days, yet there is no assurity that it might be done in 60 days.

I have written to the FBI myself too, but they have not replied back. I have been told that a response from the FBI takes 6 months. Which is just ridiculous..

Okay. I want to verify this, if anyone knows. I am very confused now on the difference between AP and AR. Initially I had been reading that AR is the long scrutinous one and that AP is the security checks. Now someone fairly knowledgeable has told me the opposite. Which is which??? I'm really in a tail spin emotionally over this, so if anyone can shed any light I would really appreciate it.

Hello, my husband had his interview at the Casablanca, Morocco on Tuesday, February 28th. He was given the 221G form letter saying it needed administrative processing and he would be contacted as soon as it is done. At the Consulate, my husband was told this is very normal. I have luckily had confirmation through my Congressmans office when they checked with the Department of State, conforming they are processing the Security Check. So we should be getting the visa in a week or a couple weeks depending on how long it takes them to do this process. Since they took his fingerprints the day of the interview, I guess their is no way a security check can be done much faster. Wish they had my husband do the fingerprints before the interview just like the medical exam and all the other paperwork gathering so we didn't get such a poor explaination why no visa was given the day of the interview or when we can get it.

So hopefully the security check will go fast and our spouses get their visas soon to be with us again soon. For me it has been over 10 months sense I last saw my husband and sent in for the K3.

I guess we just have to be patient, but if you are like me I am tired of being patient I want my husband.

I was told that our case is pending fingerprint results. We are going through Administrative Processing (as the Embassy's email stated, and not Administratice Review...if there is a difference). We are on K-3.

Fingerprints were sumitted Jan 30, 2006. We have not heard anything back yet, but according to the Embassy's average time for this type of processing, it should be sometime next week we hear something. We'll see!

Did they take your fingerprints? Does NVC tell you that 3 security clearances are pending? Or did the Embassy tell you this?

P.S...I am a Michigander too!

Hi , I am same as you they gave my fiance 221(g) It's say on it AP too , did you have news about your case please post me with anything.

Hope everyone get them visa and being with them lovers soon

Good luck

sarwat,

Sorry to read that your wife is still in AP since it is a dark hole from Islamabad. My husband had it for 5 months and it happens to 99 percent of the cases in Pakistan. Here is a quote from an email that Faresh got from Islamabad back earlier this year January 2008.

AFTER THE INTERVIEW

1. I appeared at the U.S Embassy for my interview. I was told that

administrative processing is required for my case. What does this mean?

Administrative Processing is a standard procedure

required by law for visa applications. It is a normal process and it

does not mean anything is wrong with your case. The processing is not

completed here at the U.S. Embassy and we have no control over the

processing time, nor any influence on the processing. Some cases take

longer to process than others; this does not necessarily mean anything

is wrong with your case. Once the administrative processing has been

completed, we will continue with your visa application. We will contact

you to let you know when your case is complete, and will ask you to

return your passport if we have not retained it. Once we have printed

your visa, we will return your passport along with the visa packet via

our approved courier. If it has been more than 10 months since your

interview, please e-mail Pakivquery@state.gov with the date of your

interview and case number. However, please note that routine

administrative processing questions for cases less than 10 months will

not be answered.

Main security checks that are done as well as the Lexis Nexus and others that you listed above.

(1) A VISA DONKEY or VISA BEAR is a request for the Department's security advisory opinion (SAO). Once a Donkey or Bear SAO request is sent, the post must be suspend all action on the case until a reply is received.

(2) A VISA EAGLE is a request for a name check by other Washington agencies. Once an Eagle SAO is request is sent, the post must suspend all action on the case until a reply is received.

(3) A VISA CONDOR is a request for a name check of aliens possessing certain nationalities. Once a Condor SAO request is sent, the post must suspend all action on the case until a reply is received.

(4) A VISA MANTIS is a request for the Department's security advisory opinion on issues of the illegal transfer of technology. Once a Mantis SAO request is sent, the post must suspend all action on the case until a reply is received.

All checks must be completed before a visa can be adjudicated but in some cases some of the checks expire before all complete and they must be redone. Also, a name hit in any of the data bases slows down the processing.

Good luck to you and the congressman or senator cannot expedite any security clearances. SAO is considered a matter of National Security.

Mary

biggestwinner,

The good news for your case is that males coming from Morroco do not seem to have the lengthy processing that effects the Islamabad consulate. Check in the regional forum and you will see most cases are cleared a lot sooner than those in Pakistan. Good luck to you.
