How long that it takes the Ghana embassy to notify me when they recieve my petition. Or do I have to contact them myself.

Email takes a while but they do eventually contact you. :) Be patient. In your email make sure you include case number, dob, names of all involved and they will reply for a day to pick up your packet 3 &4

Embassy indeed finally replied to me about picking up the packet so my fiancee took the email they sent to them yesterday and picked up the packet from the Ghana embassy.

My question now is in the packet they included the DS156k as well as the DS230 part A, is it okay for my fiancee to download the forms online and fill those instead of the ones they included in the packet. She does not want to mess things up while filling out the hard copy one. And how many copy of each she needs produce? I am aware that they gave her instruction for filling out the DS156k online because that one generates a Bar code at the end of the form, i am not sure about the DS 230 part B. Can anyone share more light on this so we can start filling out the forms and a link will be helpful. Our appointment interview date is on June 11th of next month so we want to do all things as fast and accurate as possible.

Finally will we have enough time to do medicals before this appointment date they gave us? These questions are all related to Ghana. Thanks for any reply with anyone who has gone through or seen info on this.

My package was sent today from NVC on its way to Ghana. How long did you take to contact them? And which email address did you used to email them? Thanks

I got a letter from NVC about 5 days when it was sent there with a case number on the letter. so i was able to call state department to see what activities were going on with the consulate. I then gave them about a week and called state department again, they told me packet 3 has been sent to fiancee. so i waited and waited and after three weeks i heard nothing or fiancee received nothing. That was when i got frustrated and sent emails after emails and they finally sent me a message that my fiance could come and pick up packet #3 and 4. My advice is when ever you check your case status online and it says ready to schedule appointment don't wait,start emailing the embassy. In reality they really did not send the packet 3 but something they called Call in Letter. I hope your journey goes faster than the three weeks we wasted waiting for the so called Packet #3. i sent the email to ivdvaccra@state.gov. They will reply within a day if they get their act together. good.gif

Thank you so much. You are very helpful. Do you have the number to the department of state where you checked statuses? Is it the same number as the NVC? Wishing you all the best on your journey hopefully it will go smooth from here
