Long story short...my girlfriend came to America for her third trip and we got married. It was not intended or planned, lol. Her VWP or ESTA ran out yesterday, :o It appears the next step is sending the i-130 and i-485 along with supporting docs for both and a couple checks to the Chicago Lockbox. Any comments are welcome and appreciated :)

Distance never separates two hearts that really care, for our memories span the miles and in seconds we are there. But whenever I start feeling sad, because I miss you, I remind myself how lucky I am to have someone so special to miss.

There's a list in the guide, but I think we pretty much agree here that proof of commingling of finances is key - basically, a joint bank account that is being used. Throw in a copy of joint insurance, pictures, anything that shows you reside at the same address, airplane boarding passes that show you took a trip together, etc. etc. You don't have to provide a lot up front, but you take more to the interview with you.

Most of all, although we were all told this when we started the process and not one of us believed it, it really isn't that bad. Try not to stress too much. It just takes time and patience. And, when filling out the forms, a bit of attention to detail. Once you have your interview and get approved, you will wonder what all the fuss was about. laughing.gif

Alright thank you very much. I think we will be starting the forms this weekend. If she has no SS#, how can we get a joint bank account? Lol I am guessing this is a dumb question :o

Try different banks or credit unions. Some banks say yes, some say no. Try adding her to your current account.
