I have said it many times. We got about 8 million illegals working. Cut that out. Tie Benefits to strict conditions. If you are not working you must get out of bed in the Am and report somewhere to paint rocks or something. Random drug testing mandatory.

If you have one child and you get benefits mandatory birth control. You have another no more money.

Just these kind of simple things. Make going to work easier than getting benefits.

Also no more SNAp cards. Large Places that hand out beans, Flour, canned meat, rice, cereal , powdered milk,,

IETC ETC

sounds real simple. investing in community is no where near as simple hounding down and deporting 8 million people to everywhere.

I like the idea of working for benefits by those who are able to. It sure would clean up a lot of communities.

i completely agree with that premise as well, in addition to providing job skills and incorporating staffing with willing local businesses.

This would be good for people collecting unemployment. It would keep them in the working frame of mind and help keep them from getting discouraged, depressed etc.

But lets not confuse Unemployment... a program people paid into , which further more has a time limit (or used to) and Welfare which is all together different.

I agree with you concept just don't want to confuse the two as similar programs.

Understood. I think it would be beneficial in both areas.

I completely agree with Nature Boy. And I dont see him mentioning anywhere about deporting 8 million illegals. But the government can make it more profitable for an employer to hire a legal resident rather than an illegal one. For example, hire an unemployed legal resident and the business gets a certain tax break or assistance in paying wages for said newly hired employee.

This is something that other governments are actively doing, namely Australia. My uncle as a small business owner in Australia, has 3 people working for him in such a government-based scheme. He gets help with their wages for i think up to 2 years. By that time, these employees are ready to move on, as the government offers training programs that provide a better wage and such at the same time.

Making working a lot easier than generational welfare would be a great first start

I never said deport anyone. If we really started dropping the hammer on those that hire them. They would not come in the fist place

he didn't say anything about deportation aspect, i did.

either illegals aren't physically here to take the jobs offered to them or we continue with the status quo.

as a country - we aren't interested in going after the companies who hire undocumented workers, we're interested in going after the workers themselves. similarly, in the war on drugs - we aren't so much interested in going after the source of illegal substances - we go after the addicts.

it's real easy to say, stop hiring illegals and hire welfare recipients instead. of course that would an instant gain for the country as a whole. but it isn't ever going to happen.

and i'm pretty sure if u.s. employers receive tax benefits for hiring welfare recipients or people on unemployment, the right would still cry foul. i'd put money on it.

E-Verify would be a huge step in the right direction, along with strict enforcement and stiff fines for violators.

I know who said what about illegals..

Ok so you agree with me awesome

E-verify has been around for years. We are just starting to make it mandatory here in GA. Lot of people crying foul, saying it puts an undue admin burden on small biz.. LOL I have used it. It takes about 3 mins to check a person.

Oddly enough you can't use it to check a person already employed. Strict violation of the law... Odd

i agree that we should punish employers for hiring illegals.

i support amnesty - so i'm sure we don't agree there.

i agree that we need to put people to work. we should provide the tools for self sufficiency. welfare should be temporary.

i do not agree with your birth control bit. at all.

i do not agree with "Large Places that hand out beans, Flour, canned meat, rice, cereal , powdered milk" there are children involved, in the majority of cases. health is wealth.

Amenisty is nothing more than saying it's ok to open the borders and come here illegally. Anyone that could think that is good for our country ( to have open borders) just is not thinking

Ok so no birth control then no benefits for any traditional children. I would be fine with that..

So why not give people food staples if they are hungry.. it feeds them...

we already have open borders. we have to do something about the people who are already here.

"Ok so no birth control then no benefits for any traditional children. I would be fine with that.."

i have no idea what 'traditional children' means.

because children need more than grits and beans to develop properly. that really has little to do with foodstamps and more our approach towards health in this country in general. but i do not believe in punishing children by withholding balanced food options because they are poor.
