My husband is filling out his DS-230 and he does not know what to write for question 31a, which states , "Person(s) named in 14 and 29 who will accompany you to the United States now." For question 14 he has obviously written my name, but I am the LPR who is petitioning him, so should he leave 31a blank?

Thanks a lot.

He should put N/A if he is the only one you are petioning for. (question 31a).

For question 14 your name should be there.

For Question 29 if your husband does not have children he should put N/A.

Write in N/A. That question is referring to people who will be IMMIGRATING. As you're a LPR, you're obviously not immigrating. This question is for those with spouses or children that are immigrating at the same time (or later) with the principal beneficiary.

When i filled out my DS-230, i wrote my husband's name on #14 and my daughter's name on #s 29 and 31a. I didnt write my husband's name on #31a, for i think that is only intended for the person/s who will migrate with you to the US.

So i think you just have to write N/A on #31a if you are petitioned solely. :-)

Thanks guys! I can always rely on you all :)

Also wanted to know if the passport sized photos that accompany the DS 230 have to signed and dated in the back?

It's preferred if they have the full beneficiary's name, date of birth, and case number written on the back of both. They don't need to be signed or dated.

If they're US citizens, then no, they're obviously not immigrating with the beneficiary, so you'd put N/A on those two questions.
