I know it isn't even Thanksgiving yet.... :P

My bro and sis-in-law have offered to buy me a plane ticket to go up to Canada sometime over the Christmas holidays... That is very nice of them I know but I can't really be away from Hubby this Christmas.... it is going to be hard enough as it is...

So I am looking into plane tickets for hubby... of course tickets right over Christmas are expensive :P but I found a pretty decent deal for the weekend before Christmas.... then I was thinking why not go over new years and stay for a week because hubby will have vacation time again in the new year...

then I am thinking if we spend around 300 bucks for a plane flight, couple hundred to buy gifts for the nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters and each other... that adds up to a lot of money

BLAH, I am tired of looking up plane flights... My eyes are going buggy  ....

I remember doing it all the time when trying to find good flights for hubby to come and visit me :P

He gets a week in Winnipeg in snow and cold. it will be my last xmas with my family and the first without his kids. We are so looking forward to it.

Marilyn check out amtrak fares if thats an option way cheaper then flying just takes a lot longer.

Why not consider the plane ticket your gift to each other, you'll both get the break you need and what better gift than that. As for gifts, brothers and sisters should be understanding enough to be able to go without for one year. We had to do it the last couple years since we had two expensive moves and downpayment & closing costs on a house clear us out. That only leaves nieces and nephews for gifts and they can be satisfied quite easily and cheaply. There's always a way! ;)
