I am requesting a letter of employment to my HR, and they were requiring me to provide them of whom they should address it and to where? I told them its for petition purposes and on top of my head just said...address to U.S Citizenship and Immigration services and gave them the PO box in chicago? I got caught with the question and thats all I can give them as an answer...is that right? can someone please help

huh?

that's for NVC Doc Intake , not USCIS.

Is better that the address is :

Department of State

National Visa Center

[address in the AOS coversheet]

USCIS doesn't give a #######, and will never see this letter.

NVC and Manila IV , otoh, will. Both are units of the Department of State.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Between the choices of USCIS or the Embassy (state department) I'd go with the latter, but I planned to make mine a generic "To whom it may concern" as shown in the guides here at VJ

Affidavit of Support Tips

Basically, your employer letter should state "To whom it may concern: (first name, last name) has been employed
full-time with the XYZ Company since 200_ as a (name of your job), and is an employee in good standing with an
annual salary of $XXXX. Signed, John Doe, Supervisor (or whatever title)" The letter should be on company
letterhead.

ya, US Embassy Manila, IV Unit address is perfectly fine, as NVC is currently acting as their agent.

Yes, the point is to prove that you are employed. That means pay stubs and/OR an employment letter.

Instructions for filing AOS on the DOS website:

"Ensure that evidence of current employment or self-employment including a recent pay statement, or a statement from your employer on business stationery, is attached. A letter from your employer must show the date you began employment, the type of work done, and your income."

Neither employment letters or pay stubs are necessary... They're not required. But you can send them if you choose. If the employment letter is a problem, stop worrying about it.

That's what I thought too! But unfortunately no, the sponsor has to include proof of employment, according to the checklist for the AOS from DOS (website in my last post above)
