My fiance has an interview 12/14.

He worked as UNHCR staff for 6 years and he was terminaed with several others

8/30/06 because of staff cutbacks. ( Sierra Leone ).

He and others have send letters, made phone calls, send emails to demand their

last month pay, separation pay , saved vacation pay etc. Noone is willing or able

to give him information on when and how much ( about $ 3000 ) they are going

to pay him. A very vague answer was February. That would be 6 month after

termination and that is ridiculous. These men are all from Sierra Leone.

Is anyone here familiar with this situation or has any idea on where to turn ?

Maybe I should have posted in the African Sub-Saharan forum.

The money is needed to purchase the ticket and start his new life here.

The UNHCR is the United Nation High Comissioner for Refugees organization.

A very helpful organization - but the men need their pay and are barely

survivng on what little they have left and running out of options.

I know this is a very strange question to put in an immigration forum but

I thought per chance one person may know in what direction to turn.
