How did they get visa's for their maids?

How did they get visa's for their maids?

I was wondering when someone would catch that little detail.

I guess if you're an "investor," you get to bring certain employees with you. (Although there is certainly no shortage in the local workforce for fluent Spanish speakers who are qualified to be maids to affluent Mexican families.)

Not on an E2 or EB5.

Or an E1.

Hmmm..... so, either the writer of the piece got it wrong, OR... something fishy ?

I meant across the border.

All land borders are a short walk, aren't they?

It's a river border - the Rio Grande is the border all the way from New Mexico through Texas to the Gulf. It's fairly wide at Laredo:

The Gateway to the Americas International Bridge is a four-lane bridge with 2 pedestrian walkways and is 1,050 feet (320 m) long and 42 feet (13 m) wide. The bridge is also known as the Convent Street Bridge, Laredo International Bridge, Bridge Number One, Old Bridge, Laredo-Nuevo Laredo Bridge 1, Puente Nuevo Laredo, Puente Laredo I, and Puente Viejo.[1]

I am told it's a river that can be waded through on foot for much of the year? Close enough to a land border.

I am told it's a river that can be waded through on foot for much of the year? Close enough to a land border.

There are parts that are quite shallow, and parts that are maybe 60-70 feet deep. Enough to drown in, and a lot of people do. But getting across the river is not really the hard part; it's getting through the desert and brush country between the river and points north, without going through a town or major populated area. Not very many people try to walk the whole way... many die trying just to walk a few dozen miles. Most make the trip via some kind of vehicle or combination - either in the back of a pickup truck or van, in a tractor trailer, or in a railroad car, etc.

I fit is fed by the Colorado, then it will be much much lower this year.

Different systems and tributaries, although the Rio Grande does have a branch that extends up into central Colorado. The Rio Grande is also fed by the Pecos River (which flows through New Mexico and Texas) and Mexico's Rio Conchos. I believe water levels are up over what they were in the worst of the drought.

They dammed up the river and made some lakes along the border... this is Lake Amistad:

Texas has a wealth of natural rivers, but only had one natural lake - all the others are man-made.
