My wife has a cousin that lives in Brazil that wants to study here in the US. What is the best option for her? Enrolling in a 4 year school? Enrolling in English courses? Can you do even do that? She wants to study medicine and she has been learning English.

If she wants to study medicine here she will need to apply for the college(s) of her choice and upon acceptance & enrollment she will have to ask the school to send her form I-20. The I-20 is her proof of enrollment and the basis for her to begin her student visa application process. She will also need to take TOEFL in order to comply with proficiency requirements.

Good luck!

And LOTS of money.

And LOTS of money.

This. Medical school is very, very expensive and few scholarships apply to foreign students. Can you/ they afford it?

Agree on the LOTS of money. She will have to pay foreign student tuition rates, which are more expensive.

I suggest doing the pre-med part in a good English-language university in Brazil and then do her grad and post grad studies in the US.

Cheers,
