Our NOA2 was approved 3/23/13. Safe to safe our case won't be received by NVC for at least another week or two. I am just so excited to be heading to NVC that I can happily wait a few weeks. I am so excited to have this journey start moving faster now.

2013 began CR1 process

Fast forward to:

2/24/16- Husband received 10 year green card

Starting the process over again for our daughter (IR2):

1/13/16 NOA1 from Potomac Service Center

4/5/16 NOA2!

4/7/16 Case sent to NVC

4/22/16 Received NVC Case and Invoice Numbers

4/22/16 Submitted DS-261

4/22/16 Invoice for AOS Received. Paid AOS Fee

4/25/16 AOS Fee shows as PAID

4/27/16 Invoice for IV Received. Paid IV Fee

4/29/16 IV Fee Shows as PAID

4/29/16 Submitted DS-260

5/6/16 Sent AOS and IV packages

5/9/16 AOS and IV packages received by NVC

5/9/16 Scan Date

6/10/16 Case Complete

8/8/16 Received Interview Date

9/20/16 Interview Date

I was approved on 2/7 but NVC didn't get my file till 3/11 and I just got an number Yesterday. So you just need to wait. Also come the the NVC thread. You'll find more answers there.


USCIS - 66 days ROC - 139 days from sent to approved
12/3/2012 - I-130 delivered to Chicago 5/20/15: mailed I-751 package to California office
12/4/2012 - NOA1 NBC (Missouri Service Center MSC) 5/22/15: Date on NOA1
12/6/2012 - Check cashed 8/26/15: Bio appointment

12/8/2012 - Received paper NOA1 10/06/15: Received Email card was being processed
12/20/2012 - Case number showed up on USCIS website
1/29/2013 - Called USCIS and case is still at NBC
2/8/2013 - Received an Email that we were approved on 2/7/13
3/5/2013 - Told file may have been "misplaced" to email NOA2 to NCVresearch
3/7/2013 - ISO at the USCIS opened a service request to try to track down
if and when the file was shipped. Should hear something before 3/26 ( so she said)

NVC - 119 days NVC to Visa in hand
03/11/2013: NVC received (31 days from NOA2 at USCIS till received at NVC )
03/25/2013: NVC Case no. assigned
03/27/2013: Paid AOS fee (shows paid 3/29/13)
04/01/2013: AOS Sent
03/27/2013: Received IV Bill
03/27/2013: Paid IV Bill (shows paid 3/29/13)
04/01/2013: Sent IV Packet
04/02/2013:IV Packet Delivered

Approved Feb 7, file reached NVC YESTERDAY (Mar 25). No telling when we will receive a number.

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

07 Aug 2013: Green Card received

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI

I just talked to a woman in the Congressional Unit of the NVC who verified that the approved cases are being batched and sent once a month by the USCIS field offices. After they are received by the NVC, they are taking "2 to 4 weeks", not 10 to 15 business days as they were saying before.

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

Oh, sure. That is what they're saying now. But the common wisdom on this site, as well as the previous quote from NVC, was 10 to 15 business days. They basically added an additional week of delay.

hemant, I am in exactly the same place you are. I just got a case number yesterday. Mine was even assigned to the wrong consulate. They are fixing it and I was also told to wait for my e-mail. Nobody knows why they take so long.

So did you guys start calling a week after your NOA2 to find out when your applications were received?

Our did you get the IIN? Did you also call everyday?

I am just wondering, we were approved 2 days ago and was thinking of starting to call next week, but wasn't sure how the NVC notifies you of the case number.

Give it at least a week before you call. My NOA2 date was 2/07. The NVC received my file 3/11 and I didn't get a number to 3/25. They say it 3 to 4 weeks after it is received at the NVC for you to get a number.
