HI guys:

i attended the AOS interview based on marriage on Feb 19 2013, our interview was smooth, the IO just asked those questions on I-485 form, and she asked for my EAD, driver license, birth certificate, and she gave my wife (petitioner) a paper and let her sign on it, then we were told to wait outside in the waiting room, after 10 mins she called us back and give my EAD driver license and birth certificate back, and handed me a paper show as below:

Continued to service action:

your application for permanent residence is pending for the reasons checked below. you may inquire on your case via INFORPASS if you do not receive a response by the time indicated.

Please inquire after 30 days

1: The service has determined that there is another immigration file that must be obtained and reviewed before your case can be adjudicative.

2: An adjudicative review of your case is needed. no additional information is required from you at this time

3: you will be advised of the time and date of a second interview.

the IO checked the second, and signed her name on the bottom and put our mailing address on the top of this paper, and told me to wait, now i've been waiting for 33 days and no decision, i already made an infopass in couple days, anyone got the same paper like i mentioned above? please give me some help thank you!

I think there were a couple of people here, who recieved the same letter at the interview.

Some were asked for a second interview, others recieved their approval or denied letter later on.

But I think most of them got approved.

I thing some IO aren't authorized to approve couples on the spot, so they make a suggestion and it is up to their supervisor to make a decision! Good luck'

OP - what visa did you hold, prior to filing the Adjustment of Status?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

perhaps they not have your student visa file in front of them when doing the interview ? That's one possibility.

When you call into USCIS National Call Center, what status do you get from a CSR?
