Cops shoots man in Macon GA

This is what we have to deal with here. A local cop gets called to investigate a man acting strangely in the Kroger parking lot. The man has before attacked a store manager and customer. The cop rolls up. He asks the man to remove his hands from his pockets and back up. The man attacks him cutting his neck with his long fingernails. The cop ( who has no taser because Macon is afraid they will cause racial problems) shoots the man and kills him.

The news media then digs up ever compliant ever filed against the officer. The family of the dead man with $$$$$$$$$ in their eyes steps up. All of a sudden their poor departed who has been basically living on the streets unwanted, is sooo missed and such a close member of the family.

we have numerous protest demanding justice while this is being investigated. ( So what they really want is a lynching of the officer before the facts come out)

The Macon Police clear the shooting as justified... The GBI is asked to step in. A team lead by a black investigator clears the shooting as justified. Then the newly elected democrat DA is asked to review and they clear the shooting. Still the race baiters and poverty pimps demand justice.. I guess thier justice is despite all the facts and 3 diffrent agncies clearing the cop you still want him rail roaded. I am sorry you chicke a cop and leaveopen a gash on his neck, you might get shot.

We have one decent communtiy even every eyar. The annual cherry blssom festival. We have peopel from all over the world here. Guess what handful of idiots disrupted the opening cermony and once again painted macon as the the shat hole it is .

acon Judicial Circuit District Attorney David Cooke say a fatal shooting by a police officer was justified. In a 15-minute news conference, Cooke explained the decision not to charge Macon police officer Clayton Sutton in the Dec. 21 fatal shooting of Sammie Davis Jr.

VIEW: Facts About Clayton Sutton Case

The GBI last month turned over its case file on the case to Cooke last month to decide if any crime was committed.

But today, he said, "The shooting, while tragic, was justified."

He said Sutton was in reasonable fear of his life.

"It would be wrong to press criminal charges against this officer" who feared for his life and others, he said.

Cooke said that on Dec. 21: Sutton responded to a 911 call from a woman frightened by Davis in the Kroger parking lot.

He said Davis assaulted Sutton when he tried to question him.

He said Davis was cutting Sutton on the neck with his fingernail, but Sutton believed he had a knife.

Sutton shot "a 6-2 265-pound mentally ill man who he believed was slicing open his neck," said Cooke.

He said Sutton fired three shots.

The nearest eyewitness to the case backed up Sutton's account, he said.

He said he spoke to Davis's sister this morning to explain his decision: "I think she understands."

Cooke said his heart goes out to the Davis family, and he asked people to pray for them.

He said Davis "had a history of untreated mental illness" and "a history of violence in (Kroger) parking lot." He cited a 2010 incident where Davis allegedly assaulted a store manager.

Cooke also said the facts of the case are dramatically different from those reported by the media. Macon police have declined to explain or comment on the shooting. Police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet could not be reached for comment this afternoon.

I never was a big fan of TASERs either. The whole "shoot and release" thing does not play well for me. If you do not need to shoot, then don't. I could carry one but #### it. If someone does that I will just kill them.

Georgia needs to allow anyone to carry concealed handguns with no permit or license and then this nonsense would stop.

You left out the fact that the person who has volunteered to hand-walk the complaint to the Justice Department is a former black mayor who is campaigning for his former office in a city that has a black majority population. I am certain C.J. Ellis would never play the race card or use a man's death to win an election.

He didn't say. Why would you assume this and make this about race just because a group of people demonstrate antisocial behavior at a festival?

Because it would be stupid to assume that Run isn't talking about a black man considering that there is a 9:1 chance of a black man committing a crime in the area that Run lives and the article involves a dead black man.

Begs the question though of why Run won't move since blacks are so much of a problem in his community?
