Ill be filing the cr1 when i get back in the states. what would you recommend I do while im here. aside from lots of pics.

  1. Fill out the G325A and He signs
  2. 2 passport pics.

That you will need for the initial I-130 petition filing. Also I would pick up a certified copy of your marriage certificate. USCIS only requires a photocopy but NVC wants the original or ceritified copy.

Later down the road once approved and sent to NVC you will need

  1. DS-230 (Part I filled out and signed, Part II filled out and unsigned
  2. His long-form birth certificate
  3. Bio-graphical pages of his passport
  4. 2 more passport pics
  5. if married before divorce decree
  6. Military record (if applicable)

All the NVC stuff you could have now and handy than all he has to send you later is a police report (you wait to get that when you get case# at NVC months away it's only good for 3 months)

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Please Please put your VJ member name only. Not nicknames or real names whatever your VJ name is. It's below your profile picture!!

Certified divorce decrees or death certificates for any previous marriages for beneficiary, if applicable. (for I-130 & DS-230 submission)

Original military certificate of the beneficiary, if applicable. (for DS-230 submission)

I suggest getting extra G-325A and DS-230 forms signed (Blue ink), and certificates for him in case something happens to the one you bring back.

And congratulations!!

When they say long form they mean all parental information on birth certificate.

Also ensure you meet the minimum income requirements since part of the CR1 process will require you to complete the Affidavit of Support form. This will be done at a later stage, but you may want to ensure you meet this requirement before starting.

Good luck!
