Hi all,

I have been trying to track my case status. I had my interview and bio, over 5 months ago, in Sydney

for the DV.

I sent an enqiry email a few months ago, and received a generic email, stating that my info

was submitted the day of my interview. So, my query is ...if the wait goes over 10 months, does

one have to resubmit all the bio stuff again, for myself and 3 kids. I don't mind waiting, but would

be great to know how others have fared. I have tried to view other people's timelines, but totally

confused and clueless, with the abbreviations and acronyms used.

thanks all , a great website.

I'm sorry - I didn't read those two "DV" letters the first time!

If you are interviewing for the DV, make sure that your application does not expire.

I came to the US many years ago after having won the DV lottery. I am Australian (from Adelaide actually!), and interviewed in Sydney. For 2012/2013, your visa would have to be approved by the end of September 2013. If it is not, then you lose the right to obtain the visa.

I would call USCIS in the US (1.800.375.5283), and ask where your application stands. Ask to be transferred to a Tier 2 representative.

Best of luck!

Hi all again, in response to wait time for Diversity Visa, following interview.

Thanks to Newbie for suggestion to phone USCIS .

I made phone 2 calls, waited over 50 minutes for both calls. At least one is told at call beginning how long percieved wait

will be. Anyway, a Tier 2 service representative with both calls, was unable to help me, as "had no access to such information".

My query is, as it is almost 7 months since my interview and bio, does one usually receive a receipt number so to check case status on line ?

All I have is a case number. Just wondering if others are going through same timeframe with DV in Australia? I have sent off a second email

to Sydney consulate, where I had my Interview, one month ago, but no response yet. I had already received a generic email, in response to a wait time query, saying that my application was in administrative processing. I don't want to seem an over zealous

applicant, but time is ticking by..

best to you all.

USCIS Has nothing to do with her visa issuance, the final decision is for the Embassy- DOS

The only thing you can do is just wait and pray, and hopefully the visa will be issued before September 30th.

This website you can see the progress of your case . you need to remove the zeros of your case # ,EX: 2013OC856 NOT 2013OC0000856

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

when they complete the AP, it will show on the website as issued

myafi1985 thanks again,

I forgot to add, I appreciate you outlining fact to drop the zeros when checking ones case.

this should be included on the website's page when checking (or maybe I missed it). Had I known this last october,

when first checking after my interview, I would have saved myself much phone and money time. cheers.
