I am really sorry to hear that you got into this situation and I feel how devastated you are. I know you have been looking forward to the day that he will be with you and on your mind it was soon... but something like this happened... For sure he feels awful for causing this trouble but I look up to him for telling the truth! like you said in your earlier post that the doctor kept asking him about it and he just did the right thing... Answered him with all honesty... For sure if he lied the doctor might caught him that he was lying... In what way? Doctors know when people do lie. Guess there are studies that shows how people tend to act or react when they lie. Usually when people lie they can't look at the other person eye to eye and for sure the doctor will notice that... I guess the doctor too would really kept asking him since I guess most men in Jamaica really tried smoking weed so they have that doubt in them already.

Just keep the faith and everything will pass... whatever is the outcome of this situation, keep loving each other and may it help to keep your relationship stronger...

EXACTLY!!!

a series of posts have been removed for the tos violation

Condone or instruct, either directly or indirectly, others on how to commit fraudulent or illegal immigration activities in any way, shape, manner or method.

one post returned below that quoted a post violating tos.

Your guess would be wrong. I disclosed everything but fortunately none of my disclosures negatively affected my process.

Yes it was 4 years ago but the question is "ever" not "in the last year". Same with some of the other questions on the paperwork. It's not a good idea to start lying this early in the game.

if you cannot offer advice in accordance with the tos, don't post.

additionally, one member's access to this thread removed.

OMG!!!!!!!! Why my husband decides to admit during the medical to smoking weed 4 years ago is a mystery to me.. I coached him forever and urged him not to ever tell that but he did... After all this waiting he does a dumb thing like that... So will we be denied help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so devastated a mind is a terrible thing to waste... Why does he not use his mind...that's only common sense.. so depressed now

Did he tell you what motivated his decision to delay , no further visa processing for a year?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Well he is sticking to his guns!! He says when the interview comes he will again be honest. I speak with him mom all the time and she advocates he is a honest man fer sure!!

Some folks have more standards than others.. I am thankful truly we will be victorious I am sure. I just spoke with our lawyer and informed her she feels he did the right thing and as long as the test is negative that should not be held against him. She does not feel it will affect the decision. I put all my faith in my Father see my husband is what I asked him for a honest man, a true man, a man of God. And that he is I a bit disappointed by he says he is going to do Great things for GOD. Yes for some reason it took a very long time to get approved. Evilness wants to trick me into believe it has prevailed over us. The Devil is a lair and a snake and has no dominion over anything in our lives.. I trust HIM completely

You are wise!

I know it was rough hearing as it happened but praise hubby for telling you and for walking the high road no matter how difficult! You are blessed no matter how long the wait is and his promises are worth more than any gold or silver.

It used to be 3 years, now 1 year.

They can not test for it after that length of period.

So maybe no adverse action with the IV unit after all. That'd be a blessing, for that couple, aye?

I just had my medical this week, and because I am so curious I asked my doctor what do they test exactly....he told me that since Obama administration, they just care about tuberculosis and blood test for syphilis...not even drug tests, or HIV. I don't think the doctor will make a point on that, but that is my personal conclusion since what they only care now is about those two things (tuberculosis and syphilis).

Don't be too hard on him, this process is so hard and sometimes anxiouness take control on us!

Good luck :)

They do test for HIV.

Which doctor did your husband do his medical? It all depends on what the doctor wrote up in his/her report. If its Dr. Banbury, it probably will be. Did they do a urine test?

But in Federal law it is a schedule 1 drug. Same level as heroin. I think it is crazy! But federal law is connected with immigration

Crazy..true...I was trying to point out the absurdity of using federal immigration law in one side while in the other hand, the couple might reside in a state that does legally allow marijuana today.

Similar but much more importantly are the regulations regarding same-sex marriage: while a federal law does negate legitimate and bonafide couples the benefit of immigration, the state where they would reside does recognize it fully.

Something is not right here: a federal law penalizing something that if done within some states boundaries, would be completely legit.

If that does not scream immigration reform, not sure what would.
