Hopefully your journey proceeds faster from here and that you will be reunited physically with your fiance very soon.

I wouldn't get too optimistic about that...if they update the processing time information, and if it is before August 6, i would almost guarantee that they will tell you that you cant file a service request because you are in the current processing times.

Yes, I'm afraid you misunderstood, OP. If (a HUGE if) and when the processing date moves up 16 days, THEN you will be outside the normal processing times and can, theoretically, file a service request at that time, NOT 16 days from NOW.

Although, to be fair to the OP, I don't think he misunderstood...I do think the phone agent told him that, because I just called and was informed "since they are on July 18th, in 26 days you can call back and we will file a service request". I just said " OK, thanks"

They are just lying to get you off the phone.

This is one of the things that peeves me the most...the blatant misinformation they spew. Our fee dollars at work.

i'm trying to stay positive.....he told me "i" would be outside normal processing times in 16 days and to call on the 17th day

I know your trying to stay positive but service request normally do not do a lot except tell you to wait sixty days more as your petition is still processing....i really hate that option they give you because we used it countless times in the two years and always got the same answer..sometimes it seems the service centers just give you these options so that you feel better.....your in my prayers

Hopefully you will get your NOA2 really soon! Stay positive. :)

I remember how excited I was when I received my NOA2 many months ago and my application was also at the slow service center at the time (VSC). I was literally     as soon as I saw the status change online. Good luck OP!

I hope you get the NOA2 before the 16 days is up. You have waited so long already. I know I would be going crazy waiting

And I hope Cairo starts scheduling fiance visa interviews quicker. The last one I seen took 7 months from NOA2.

Good Luck

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

Service requests are a waste of time. All they are going to do is email you saying that your petition will be adjucated within 60 days of your request. By saying that it buys them more time. The adjucator that will process your petition has no clue that you put in a service request because they have people on the payroll that only handle service request and letters from congressional members. The only thing you can do is hurry up and wait. Your petition will be approved when your number is called, plain and simple. The best thing you can do while you wait is to continue gathering evidence for the petitioners interview.
