So we've got 4 days left before the final interview and my fiance has suddenly gotten a little cocky. Somehow with the combination of talking to a couple girls at the medical and having St Lukes stamp her passport she thinks they will ask 3 simple questions and it's all but in the bag. Although I like her confidence I feel someone could push hard enough to make her crack. I asked her what we did last time I visited, she said I don't know, I replied with a serious? She said yeah. Then when I broke it down day by day she knew everything we did. I sure hope she is just trying to drive me crazy and doesn't tell the interviewer I don't know. It's kind of funny cuz this whole time she's kind of not thought it would get approved and now she's a little too sure. I will say there is a whole lot of luck to this whole process people post RFE's for weird little things and I noticed that she didn't fill in her place of birth on G325 after I got NOA2 so there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why things happen the way they do.

I wonder how the people that get denied this late in the stage could walk away from it, it seems to happen more in other countries but still it has got to be pretty hard. I certainly can't wait to have someone ask the cost of the K1 visa question, it has costed almost double what I originally figured it costing. Not to mention adjusting status which isn't cheap and hopefully I can manage to put it off for awhile. I guess I might have a short 2-3 more weeks as a bachelor I better live it up while I can. I've already been made aware me going to bars is off limits.

Well, if your lucky, she got the names and addresses of the folk giving her advice.

That's gonna be useful, if there's a denial, as she can then sue them for monetary recompense.

also - many bachelors do live it up at various church gatherings - so don't forget that area, since bars are off the menu .

Dude, you do have time to change your mind, even when she is here. No marriage, then back she goes.

I've agreed to cut down on my fall hunting when she gets here as long as she doesn't get involved with the birthday party crowd here. Come summer time you could not have a weekend to yourself if you get caught up with that group. Give and take...................I give away some of my hunting during the fall to take back some time this summer to keep golfing with the boys.

Wow. You sound cockier than the OP's fiancee. The "within 90 days of arrival in the US" clause is not a timeframe for "returns."

ha ha you sound like you my friends. That isn't the plan so I doubt it will happen. Luckily hunting time won't be affected or anything non-bar related. I'm actually hunting this weekend as part of my job so unless I get another job deep sea fishing, hunting, nascar experience, sporting events, all that is part of entertaining a customer so I have to suck it up and do it sometimes :) I do agree not the time to be cocky, I don't feel any more assured now than when I got the NOA2. She sent me a photo of this stamp St Lukes put in. Her theory was why would they stamp my passport if they weren't going to give me a visa. For some reason either all women are naive or I just date the ones that are. I'm going to use that though next time I get pulled over on the toll roads, why would they build this nice new road if they didn't want me to speed on it? Or why would they serve alcohol at a gas station if they didn't want you to drink and drive? I hope she doesn't mention her train of thought to the interviewer. I guess a why would they put Tijuana so close to the main POE is a valid excuse now, bonus!

See if that cockiness follows her while she's infront of CO. Getting an interview date is not a guarantee of an approval. Even you get the visa and get married within 90 days, you still has AOS to worry about. Our IO was strict but we managed to pass.

Good luck!

Not a clause, but either they get married in 90 days, or she leaves the country, or she is illegal. Those are the facts.

We had an easy interview with a few questions. I provide that as feedback and nothing more. Everyone's case is different, and she needs to understand that all are treated as individuals. We spent much time preparing and frontloaded our petition. My being at the interview more than likely had an impact as well. We had no idea how prepared we were though. There is no goal line in this type of preparation as far as I can see. We were not so worried but still had a healthy dose of nervousness. Maintaining humility throughout it all will do more good for her than being overconfident, no doubt. Though it is odd for me to hear of someone getting the CFO stamp BEFORE having a visa on hand, it is silly to think that the decisions and processes of CFO will have any impact on the decisions of the US government.

Not CFO stamp, I guess the medical puts a stamp in the passport. And yes it is silly. I'm only concerned with my divorce coming so close to filing for the K1 and I told her she should be prepared for some questions about that. With it being Philippines I don't think they have a high concern for terrorism but I could see some countries they might look at my security clearance for weapons manufacturing and question that also. All I can do is have faith.

My confusion. Sorry. Yeah, passing the medical only means just that. They give us an alien number when we get NOA2 as well, but that doesn't mean a guarantee for visa issuance. I'd say you are very right in your concern over the divorce, but it sounds like you are covering all your bases well.

My wife got the CFO stamp when she went for the medical. It wasn't the plan, but she had the time, so she just ran over and got it done.

I was separated for many years, but not divorced until right before our K-1 filing. My divorce was final about a month before we filed. It was never questioned. The interview at the embassy is more about her, and her relationship with you, its not really about you except do you meet the money requirements. My wife was shaking in her shoes about the interview. As it was they didn't ask her any questions, just made friendly chat while he glanced over the papers. We were pretty heavily front loaded. Three binders worth of evidence, another binder of photos, and not one thing was asked from her except the required forms.
