Hello ladies and Gents :)

I have an upcoming AOS interview and i just need to know your input. First of all me and my wife had been married for less the a year, but we been together for almost 8 years. Now my wife works in the bay area and prolly will be moving back here in southern CA before the year ends. Do you guys think that were going to have any problem as far as evidence. I am planning to bring our photo's ( prom pictures ) and old letters from her and much more...our joint mastercard account and health insurance. I am concern that we currently dont live together but we manage to be with each other eventhough its long distance. Thanks :)

just bring anything that you think would be helpful as a proof of being together, you dont have to worry about it everything will be alright, it is not hard if you are just being honest on what the interviewer would ask, and everything will be fine, my interview, i bring everything and i make a copy of all that i think would be helpful but the interviewer just ask for our marriage cert. thats it and she look on our photos, just bring those other proofs so as the interviewer ask for more then you can show them much proof,

I think you'll be alright. But more evidence would be much better.

Photos....good evidence, but my officer did not even ask to see them.

the officer asked for my lease, joint bank acct (for your master card, maybe get a letter from the bank saying when you guys opened the acct), health insurance (both names on it), life insurance (her or your name being beneficiary), assets (such as houses deeds or timeshare stuff...anything), car title, car insurance, utility bills and etc.

These are what I can think of right now..and those are what my officer asked for. He did not even take a look at other things except for my passport.

The interview isn't gonna be hard at all. It's just gonna be the things you filled on the applicantion they may ask, and the supporting documents.

Good luck...and just explain your situation to them!!

Amanda

JM,

"old" things don't count for much, you need things that show you have a bona fide marriage today. What evidence do you have that "we manage to be with each other eventhough its long distance"?

Well i am hoping the our health insurance and our utility bills and credit card ( me and her ) would be sufficient evidence. I am alittle worried that i wont suffice the requirements :(

JM,

I would be a little worried also - living apart for good reason is not unknown, but it's not the usual way of life either.

If I were in your situation I'd be having a consultation with an immigration attorney to review the details of my situtation and get advice on how to best deal with the particular circumstances. It might, for example (I don't know for sure), be a good idea to present some evidence supporting the reasons why you are living in two different places. And some evidence showing that you do get together at every possible opportunity.

Well the reason that we live apart is because its work related. She got the job and would be moving back with me by the end of december :)
