Why dose this question get asked so many times, the USCIS has the newest forms available in their website, there are none newer.

I took the time and posed the question to USCIS about their website:

From: Daniel

To: Regs, Rfs

Subject: Form I-864 Expiration Date

Just wanted to leave some feedback, I noticed 2 things.

First on form I-864, I-864A and I-864EZ indicate EXPIRES 09/30/06

And Second the website indicates that I-864, 864EZ and 864A with edition dates 1/15/06, 11/05/01, 9/26/00, 1/21/98 also acceptable through 10/19/06. The current expired forms are 1/15/06 edition.

So are all I-864 forms un-acceptable after 10/19/06, or will there be a newer form and an update to the website?

Many of the people in a support group I am involved in are confused by this.

Can the website and forms be updated to stop the confusion?

Thanks.

Don’t worry about the expiration date. The series of I-864 forms with the 01/05/06 edition dates should be used by applicants. USCIS is accepting these forms and will continue to do so until the forms are revised at some point in the distant future.

OMB No. 1615-0075; Expires 09/30/06 is NOT when the form expires. That's when the OMB approval they gave USCIS to collect the information expires. The form is good until USCIS says not to use that version any longer.

The forms are the latest ones, the Office of Management and Budget had until that date to approve the new forms, after that date any suggestions on changes wont be accepted and the forms become the standard ones until newer ones are proposed. That date is not when the forms expire, it is the date that any changes to them suggested by OMB wont be accepted.

Again don't worry there are no newer forms, if there were they would be on the USCIS website.

I emailed the USCIS and they responded the next morning with this response

"That is the latest version of the form. The expiration date has to do with an administrative requirement within the government and not with USCIS acceptance of the form. You may use the form without it being rejected on these grounds.

USCIS"

Thanks for the info as well.
