Hi there,

I just got off the phone with the immigration liaison of my congressman's office. Really nice lady. We contacted them for an inquiry on our case about a week ago and got a confirmation email from them. I was wondering why we still hadn't heard back from them so i called.

And great news, as of today our petition has been given to an officer for adjudication, we should have an answer (or RFE) within 30 days maximum. So i'll let you know in 30 days or less if it actually happened. Good thing i decided to take the phone and called as the lady told me she had been trying to call my fiance several times and was never able to leave a message. Also she had just emailed him. When i said that to my fiance he said "oh ok those are the weird calls i was getting, since i didn't know the number i never picket up" :bonk: :bonk:

So July/August CSC filers, contact your representatives, insist on them (and make your taxes work for you). Some offices work better than others and it is not sure it will work the first time (we had contacted a senator and it didn't help).

UP. Does anyone who has been told this by a representative (that it was given to an officer for adjudication)actually had an approval or RFE within the next 30 days?

How long does it usually take to receive an answer once it is out of the dusty box it has been in for months and is assigned to someone for adjudication?

No personal experience, but from what I read on here, it usually takes less than 30 days to hear once they are actually working on it.

I heard the same thing from representative on a Friday afternoon, following Monday morning had my approval. Not saying this is typical, just my experience.

So what you are saying is that it is basically what USCIS gives as a timeline when the petition is out for adjudication (30 days) but it usually goes faster.

I heard that on a tuesday afternoon and we are on thursday... well i won't start worrying before it is at least 2 weeks. But im glad to hear that when they say it has been given to an officer it means they'll actually work on it...

We were told on Tuesday that our petition is in transit to an adjucations officer...I just thought that was their euphemistic way of saying, "yeah, we have it lying around in our piles here somewhere." Do you really think it will actually get looked at soon? I sort of put that down as another failed attempt of really getting help to speed things up...

You are welcome dear and don't worry you will hear something soon and please update us with anything you hear. I have also opened a thread regarding csc August filler case update. I sent my rfe documents yesterday and informed my congressman and she said she will call the csc tomorrow hopefully and will find out about my case. Good luck and I'll pray for you :)

I think you will have your approval in like a week or so. It is still pretty fast over at CSC for rfe responses.

I will make sure to let you all know. Even though i am 99% sure it will be a RFE for us, we noticed my fiance forgot some documents with our application and contacted the customer service and they gave us instructions on how to send the docs so it can be attached to our petition, but i ve read that it doesn't work all the time so... I am just hoping it will be closer to a week than 30 days... so tired of waiting

I am thinking between a week or two... i ll see if i had a good bet later  . Btw here is my letter:

Dear XXXXXX:

My office received your request, and a member of my staff contacted USCIS on your behalf. I have good news. Your petition for your finance is now with an officer at the California Service, and they assured me that a decision for adjudication will be made within the next 30 days. Please contact my office, Carol Berger, anytime after May 1, and she will be happy to contact USCIS again.

I hope this information has been helpful, and in the meantime if my office can be of further assistance, please let me know.

Hi congrats on your NOA2 i am happy for you and to see that RFEs are being processed in a timely manner.

As for me it's been 16 days already and still nothing... With the holidays and their "pumbing issue" i wasn't expecting anything last week but i was hoping it would be more in between 7-15 days. I am getting anxious.

If i have nothing at day 31 i call back my congressman's immigration liaison as they told me to if i didn't get an answer... Getting tired of the wait
