FYI on I-864 - answer to common question

FYI all...because I know this question pops up alot:

I sent in my I-864 a few weeks ago for the CR-1 process and sent very minimal information, as per instructions:

1. Completed I-864 Form, stating income of considerably more than poverty level for 3 people.

2. Copy of only most recent tax year return - considerably more than poverty level for 3 people.

3. Last 2 bi-weekly paychecks as evidence of #1.

Keep in mind, I had to list a previous Affidavit of Support via a previous marriage to an immigrant as I went through a nasty divorce with her after a K1 marriage, totaling my current household size as 3.

I called tonight and spoke with an NVC Rep who stated that my I-864 has made it through review and is complete, no RFE's issued. In closing, hoping to provide evidence that you can get through this step of the process using only on minimal evidence as stated in the instructions if you are "squared away".

congraaaaats .............thaanx for sharing this info........but still we will send as much evidence like three recent yrs tax returns ........and more paystubs........and employment letter also.............its only better to send more ....than to get RFE as we all know that everything depends on the individual adjudicator's decision......... and we cant Question his decision......

You're not 'out of the woods' yet. Keep in mind that the NVC only looks at the I-864 for completeness - does it appear to have sufficient documentation to support the information provided on the form.

The NVC does not evaluate the information provided, that is done at the consulate. There may yet be questions to answer when the evaluation is done by the consular officer.

You're not 'out of the woods' yet. Keep in mind that the NVC only looks at the I-864 for completeness - does it appear to have sufficient documentation to support the information provided on the form.

EVERYTHING is in question at the Consular interview - no matter what evidence or actions taken..we all know that already. Dont twist the post, I'm simply trying to share with others that by simply following the guidelines, your application can make it through successfully to the next step. There have been a multitude of posts expressing concern on just how much it will take for NVC to accept that you make enough and to continue your application. I was one who stated I felt safe that my income and history stood for itself and I would submit the bare necessities and share the results.

Yes, there have been a multitude of posts asking this question. But the NVC does not make any determination as to whether or not one earns enough. How much one earns is not a factor in the NVC sending the application forward to the consulate.

This is a mis-perception that should be corrected, not perpetuated.

Geez man... RELAX!

My initial post simply stated that providing MINIMAL EVIDENCE, as requested in the directions, did result in a completed review. I dont know why your beating this dead-horse about them approving my income level - I never stated this - so please stop posting argument to a point that is not being made here.

I've noticed that at times one's thought that they know SO MUCH about the Visa process results in some real redundant information, obvious answers that aren't really needed or over-attempt to inform or correct.

I'll be sure to update this to show that minimal evidence got the VISA APPROVAL from the embassy, just to make you sleep better! Wouldnt want any "mis-perceptions"
