We had a tricky situation to begin with. We have been together for 6.5 years and have constantly tried to be with each other whenever possible. The shock came in early 2011 when my H1B application was denied and B1 revoked. We didnt give up at that time. A second H1B petition with the same company was filed with all explanation for the previous H1B related questions. At the interview I mentioned about my girlfriend ( didnt know that it shouldnt be mentioned ) and rest is history ( at least for me ). They thought I am just trying to immigrate whereas we were fighting hard to have a normal relationship, enjoy things together instead of over skype/gchat and remove the physical distances. Finally once we were ready to get married, we filed for K1 and after loooong wait for NOA2 at Vermont and other hiccups finally I got the visa today.

Over last 8-9 months I have used this board to let out my frustration, rant at times and everyone has been super nice and supportive. Existence of such an active online support group is truly remarkable. I got great advice and bonded with several people who shared the pain. It made the journey easier. I want to say thank you to everyone. And to those who are waiting, well yes, I was in your position until today. No words other said helped me at times but approvals always gave a little bit of hope. So, I would also say, hang in there friends, your time will come.

I am truly happy today, happier than I have been in last 2 years. And during that time I did a startup, made it to a dream mba program etc but something was always missing. Good bye pain, now we start preparing for our wedding :)
