F1 preference (US citizen parents sponsoring me)

hello everyone

I haven't really looked around as much as I could but I am very anxious about my case in particular. I am even losing sleep. :(

My priority date is July 2005.

I received an approval letter from USCIS in June 2009.

My parents became US citizens in March 2010 and they are sponsoring me.

The center I have applied to is Nebraska.

I am checking my status with my wac ID and still see it at Initial review.

I also saw some posts on this forum that people whose PD is after mine (2006) were already done. But yet I am still waiting.

Did my parents or some one mess up? Or what's going on?

Even words of sympathy would be nice. This process is a big anxiety inducer but I wanted some educated opinions on this.

Thanks.

Check the latest Visa Bulletin and look for F1: http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5900.html

Most F1s with a priority date before 08-MAR-06 can apply for a green card. And that includes you, congrats!

Where are you now? If you are outside the US, your consulate should have sent you an interview letter. If you are inside the US, then you can apply for AOS (adjustment of status).

Maybe you need to make the change from F2B to F1 (from resident parents to citizen parents)?

Did your parents alert USCIS that they naturalised? If not, your case will be waiting for "adult kids of greencard holders" priority date, which is still a few months.

Bye: Penguin

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

To be honest I am leaving it all to my parents to do this and I have a feeling they are messing up. I hope I am wrong though.

I am in my native country right now building a new life. But when the GC shows up, I will start moving llittle by little. No one has sent me anything and my parents haven't said a word.

I figured that the change from F2B to F1 would be automatic. I don't know.

Honestly all of this jargon I read on this forum is mind boggling. Gotta continue trying to make sense of this all.

I don't know if they did. They've assumed that it was automatic. I will have to ask them.

I asked my dad via email and he told me I was F1. So I posted this thread in the wrong forum.

That's strange though. Rumors are that the F1 list was "retrogressed". HOw in the world is this even possible? Does it have to do with the current adminstration of Obama and his promise to help out the Hispanic community?
