Newark Transfer

Just came back from Newark. It wasn't bad as people are experiencing at other local offices. I explain officer that my case was filed on Nov 30th and was transfer to Newark on Jan 9. I asked him if he can dig deep in to files and see when I should expect some kind of communication. He asked me to sit, he went inside and came back after 20 mins. He asked me about my marriage date and I told him its Feb, 7, he said it says 7/2, so I told him in india they usually write that way, he said he thought so but just wanted to ask me, then he asked me that my marriage was registered in Sep, So I told him I left right after my marriage and could not register, so I went back in Sep and register. He said it is not relevant. Here find exact words .... " I looked in to your file and it looks good to me. I do not think you will receive an RFE, but its all up to the officer who is looking over your case. I looked at your documents and your wife's documents, I do not think anything is missing at this point. You should expect some kind of communication soon. The officer who is looking at your files is currently working on cases which was transferred in Dec and he will take the cases in order it was received". He did not say how many days but He did everything he could and I felt satisfied. I got detail information both the time I visited Newark.

You should definitely go. I believe it will make difference.

I just spoke with the Tier 2 Rep. They mentioned my case was transferred to the Newark office on Feb 27th. I was told that I should expect a decision within 60 days. But since Newark has so many backlogs I am hoping for the best.

It was transfer to Newark 12/12/12 n on feb 25-13 we got an RFE n we sent it on 6th of march 13 then we got approved 15th of April 2013

Did anyone get any sort of updates from the Newark office. The only input I have is that when my wife (the petitioner) called USICS they told that the file was transferred to Newark (but not when). We have an NOA from Mid December and no further updates.

We haven't even received any sorf of RFE or updates.

Just an update for the Newark guys, so my wife went for an InfoPass this morning at Newark and they lady told my wife that we were transferred to Newark in Early Jan (we're Dec NOA1). and for 4 monthsn until mid april, no one actually was assigned on our case. So due to some work load stufff, they moved our file to the Mt. Laurel Field office so I guess we'd have to wait.

We're planning for an infopass at Mt. Laurel office to see if anything can be done.

I'm so frustrated that our file was at Newark for 4 months and no one actually looked at it and was simply transfered to another office.

Ok so something new here. They have just started that office so not sure how many officers are working on i130 but you should surely visit. Did you try to contact your congressman? For my case, congressman office inquired on 04/27 and I received RFE on 4/30. So it does help.

Thanks... Yes, you should immediately contact your congressman. I am clues as why your case is still at Newark. It suppose to get transfer within week or two of your approval. Did you receive hard copy of NOA2?

You can contact both. try to contact your house of rep first, but I suggest you take an infopass appointment again and try to talk to diff IO. ask for supervisor.

As per my experience, Newark office is more accurate than USCIS IO on the phone. A_Singhs case has been transferred to Mt. Laurel as well. So maybe newark is feeling pinch and probebly transfering some of the work at Mt. Laurel office. Are you planning to go to Mt. Laurel anytime soon?
