TSA constantly causes me to scratch my head.

Both my buck knife and my multi-tool have somehow got by the scanners (left them in my backpack by mistake). But if I leave a sip of water in my water bottle....big trouble!

This would not have you scratch your head if you realized that what is going on at our airports is just one big show. Window dressing. That's all it is. Airport security it is not.

There has to be some measure of common sense and judgment or we all become drowned in a haze of endless possibilities, no matter how far fetched.

Here you have a guy who does not fit "the profile" ....with military I.D. with a number of fellow serviceman accompanying him.

Look the truth is, we are not under attack or we would be seeing bombs going off in subways, football stadiums and shopping malls.

Most of these type stories are "head scratchers" and in some cases over sensitivity of the person searched,... this one was really disturbing.

I hope that we find this was the fault of the TSA worker doing something he shouldn't have done rather than concrete policy.

Well it depends what "profile" you're talking about. If you're talking about risks for bombing the plane, for sure, not the profile.

If you're talking about "profile" for smuggling #######, yeah, being military I'm thinking they're MORE likely. Smuggling drugs? No. Smuggling stuff they shouldn't have/aren't allowed... the stories my ex-military husband has told me would curl your toes.

Of course. Makes sense.

They don't want you to blow up a plane with your water bottle. That's why you have to throw it in the trash. If the airport then blows up, that's okay.

If I had a say, they would insert a 10-inch pole into Barack's and Janet's you know what, circle it around, and then touch and squeeze their genitals, all in the name of national security. Maybe that would help giving them some perspective.
