Sex education is very valuable. The lack of it (and lack of affordable resources once sexually active) can and does lead to pretty crappy situations.

The more educated people are about sex and its consequences, the better. Teen pregnancy rates are actually on the decline, and have been for some years now. How is that not "getting something done"?

We have seen these rates go up and down by a bit over the years, but certainly nothing which could justify the expense and time wasted.

But this is typical of any Gov't program, it's failure simply adds merit to it's continued funding.

Like all programs it starts with a promise or intent and soon enough it becomes no more than a funding item for the system.

See I am against it on principle that it is outside of the scope that "I" think ... schools should focus on.

But if it showed some remarkable "measurable" purpose, you might could win me over but it violates and fails in both categories.

No, they've been steadily going down. Not up and down. Just down. Teen pregnancy is still a problem, but the more education available, the better.

Teen pregnancy rates fell 40% from 1990 to 2008. Last year, it reached its lowest recorded level since 1976.

But I know, Danno. That still won't be good enough progress for you.

Thats a good start now post the STD rate.

I have no way to source it but I would bet the drop is rather due to-

1.Sexting-why bother to go hump your girl when there is so much free porn on line and girls texting their crotch to you?

2. Kids are getting lazier, not only do sports require too much effort but even sex is to taxing on todays youth (Japan is leading in this "lack of interest" in sex craze).

3. Abortions.

4. Lesbians are on the march, taking more chicks out of the game.

5. Homos are out N proud, who needs a chick when your partner has a butt like Justin Beiber?

THIS THIS THIS THIS

It has been all over the news, in every quarter. Teen pregnancy is incontrovertibly down, because kids are using contraception.

Who the hell needs condoms though, just give 'em all guns. Fun!

Apparently it doesn't matter because people still get STDs. Yeah, I can't follow that 'logic' either. Oh well.

I went to private school, so it was on my parents' dime. I have never had an STD or a teen pregnancy, so I'd say my lessons were a great investment.

I just knew you went to private school!

Your vocabulary gave it away.
