Hi everyone,

My PD is Jan 2011 and, if things go as expected, I may get a medical exam scheduled within the next few months. However, I'm a bit worried I might fail the medical exam because I recently discovered that my blood pressure is way too high. Can I be denied an F2A visa for having high blood pressure? Any input would really be helpful.

Thanks.

No, that's not a ground for denial.

My hubby also has high BP and cholesterol, but he's taking maintenance medicines so there was no issues when he had his medical exam at SLEC. He was even able to bring 4 months worth of his prescribed medicine to the US.

If your blood pressure is over a certain level, you won't fail the medical, you simply won't pass it.

St. Lukes will recommend that you to go see an outside doctor for your problem. After you have your blood pressure under control, you are allowed to return to St. Lukes and complete your medical.
