Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that only applies if you're an active duty troop about to be deployed or stationed somewhere else? Meaning you can speed things up only if your orders somehow clash with the visa process. If you're just a member of the military but not active I don't think it's grounds for an expedite.

Yes. You need to have an underlying circumstance that will require an expedite. You will also need proof IE letter from CO, orders, family emergency with red cross letter..etc. You just cant call and talk your way to expedite. I hear its becoming more difficult with all the service centers being so busy.

There is such a thing as military expedite. Why does it exist? Because military members (my husband included) get notice of assignments or deployments usually just within weeks from leaving.

Simply being military doesn't mean your case will be expedited. But, having the updated background check on the petitioner (through military) might somehow speed things up :)

of those differences between us, for it is not difference which immobilizes us, but silence.
And there are so many silences to be broken.”

I am in the NAVY and have my case expedite. you don't need to have a deployment coming soon, you can just write to them, with a copy of your order and a letter explaining why you want your case to be expedited. you can tell them you will be deploy in a near future,

in my case my order is shore duty, and I got my expedited request approved after 4 days.Let me tell you this, if you are already in the military, you have anough stress going on over your job, and they don't want you to be stressing more over your family. write to them and explain this to them. They will approve your expedition.
