Hi

First, I wanted to say thank you. This forum has been really helpful.

1. My CR1 case was finalized a month ago and I just got to the US a week ago on my CR1 visa. The stamp on my passport says "UPON ENDORSEMENT SERVES AS TEMPORARY I-551 EVIDENCING PERMANENT RESIDENCING FOR 1 YEAR"

I'm not sure what it means. Does that mean I only have a green card for 1 year??

2. My wife and I are only married for a few months no so I know I need to file a joint petition within 90 period immediately preceding the second anniversary of the date i was granted conditional permanent resident status. does that mean exactly 1 year and 9 months from now?

3. I know I should get a green card at some point. Do I get it by physical mail? Does anyone know how long should I wait? If I don't get it who should I call?

It's all a bit confusing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The stamp in your passport is only valid for 1 year. You have yet to get your green card in the mail to find out how long it is valid for, most likely it is 2 years as you got a CR-1.

Did you pay the fees to get your green card? you are required to pay the USCIS a processing fee of $165 before they will issue and send you your green card.

Thanks. Yes, I paid $165 online before I landed in the US. Any idea when the green card will arrive?

Anytime now, can take a few weeks to a month is the general time frame. If it goes over that you generally want to call and find out where it is!

That's good. Who would I call?

Thanks

USCIS or department of state. Both numbers can be found on their websites.
