Liza could also phone the U.S. Embassy in Seoul at the end of this week or at the beginning of the other to find out if the file sent by NVC is your petition. Good luck!

Mornin' Callina, how'd you find out that a packet got sent to Seoul? Is there a website I don't know about?

Flying over to visit Liza next month, regardless of how the paperwork is going.

Sorry for the delay in answering you, Jafa. Well, it seems that NVC uses the quick services of DHL to send the approved petitions to the beneficiaries' countries. This means that we have a possibility to use the DHL website so as to check whether there are any shipments to those regions of the globe we are interested in. We will not find our names among the other pieces of info we may have access to while visiting the above-mentioned site, but we can get a picture of when our package could leave NVC if we know for sure that it had got there. This morning, Dinha - our very kind-hearted VJ fellow - emailed me and taught me how to use the DHL online tracking system. I am very grateful to her and I wish to show my appreciation for what she did by passing on the info and thus helping other people. So, here's what you have to do:

1. Insert this address in your browser's case:

http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

2. Then put the word "correspondence" in the Reference Case and the code 03801 in the Origin Postal Code (which is in the Additional Information field).

3. Eventually, click the word Track written in red below the table and wait. You'll find many packages sent on the 13th and 14th to various countries, including South Korea (still, we don't know whether it's yours or not, but your fiancee can call the US Embassy in Seoul in the following two days to find out).

God bless!

That's just too cool! Thanks! Gonna check it out in just a minute here... You're missing all the rain and flooding in Washington :D

Oh... one more question (while I'm monopolizing on your time...). Do you happen to know if we're assigned an NVC case number is we already have a USCIS receipt number?

I hope your family are all right! I feel so sorry for the ones who've had to cope with the flooding...Romania was itself severely affected by heavy rain and flooding this year and two years ago and I know how much suffering they can bring about.

Yes, we are assigned a new number once our case gets to NVC. My fiance wrote it down yesterday during his phone conversation with the NVC clerk and I also received it by email this morning (I had sent them an email inquiry on the 8th of November asking them if they'd got our case...).

The flooding isn't that bad here... Just entertaining at times. Seems I'm getting to have all kinds of weather lately. Blizzards last month and now flooding :)
