Hey guys,

It has been a week or so since I posted. I just wanted to give a big thank you to my online family for all the love, support, advice and encouragement. This is a special journey that we share and I am so glad to have people like you share it with. My fiance has finally made it accross waters and I couldnt have done it without you guys. Special shout out to my Haiti portal family. I really really really appreciate the support. I dont know how I could have done it without you guys. This is just the beginning, we still have to do the I485, so I will be here to ask way more questions, lol

PS...when does he do his social security card, liscence, and all of that other stuff

Congrats!!! So exciting :):dance:

I think he has to wait 10 days after entry to do the SSN. And the driver's license before the I-94 expires (but I've read it could be best to do it right away too.) Still researching this aspect as my fiancé is coming soon. If you find anything, let me know!

Our K1 Process

June 7, 2012 -- Sent I-129F to June 9, 2013 -- Religious & Civil Wedding Ceremony in CT

FROM I-129f NOA1 to VISA APPROVAL: Exactly 8 months! No RFEs

Our AOS Process

July 16, 2013 -- Mailed AOS, EAD, and AP Paperwork to December 21, 2013 -- Received GC Card in the Mail!

FROM NOA1 to GREEN CARD in Hand: Exactly 4 months 27 days! No Interview or RFEs.

Our ROC Process

September 21, 2015 -- Mailed ROC Paperwork to August 6, 2016 -- Received Card in the Mail!

Eligible to Apply for Citizenship on September 14, 2016.

October 4, 2016 -- Mailed N-400 Paperwork.

November 8, 2016 -- Completed Biometrics.

May 6, 2017 -- Received Interview Letter in the Mail.

June 8, 2017 -- Interview Passed!

June 16, 2017 -- Oath Ceremony! He is a USC!!

FROM Application to CITIZENSHIP: Exactly 8 months 13 days! No RFEs.

Yay! So glad he arrived safely. Definitely do the social security number within 10-14 days. As soon as he gets the social security card, get the State ID/driver's license. I'd suggest calling the DMV to get specific information on the driver's license. My husband had to take the written test, get a permit, then take the driver's exam (which he hasn't done yet). His Haitian driver's license was not valid.
