I filed for I-129f for my alien fiancee last August 5, 2012 and got the I-797 August 7, 2012. It's been more than 7 months since I received the NOA. I wonder if I could call USCIS or something to check my status? Ive tried to check the status online and it didnt give helpful information, it only says Initial review and I will be notified once decision is done. My fiancee also has a daughter from her previous relationship and I included her in the petition as well. Is it probably the cause of the delay? because she has a daughter? thanks

this procesing times are now longer then should be,

CSC and VSC have delay

there are many august applicants waiting for approval,

you can check on Igor's List how many applicants is still waiting

Don't take this delay as personally related to your application. If they had questions or issues they'd send you an RFE (Request for Evidence). California is several months behind standard times. Here is a link to Igor's List here on VJ. if you look, most of the california filers around your time still have not had any action on their cases either. About a week ago they transferred alot of DACA cases out of California. I am hoping this will mean an increase in K-1 activity at the CSC.
