Number of co-sponsors and such

Questions here:

If one person is co-sponsoring and we are NOT living in their place, is it still 125% for 1 person or 125% for 2 people?

Also are we allowed more than one co sponsor? For example, lets say one co sponsor makes 15k a year, the other makes 16.5k a year, totalling 31.5k, can we do this? This meets far above required levels.

It is still 2 people if that person lives alone and has no children.

I'm pretty sure you can't split it up. If you can't do it alone then you have to have someone else who meets the 125% for 2 people (themselves and the immigrant). I think the only way you can add up sponsors is if they are "household members" (either live they in the same house and are immediate relatives or one is a dependent of the other) and you use I-864a. If you have multiple immigrants you can split them up among different cosponsors, but it doesn't sound like that is your case.

The petitioner is always sponsor #1 even if they don't make any money. For each intending immigrant can use another sponsor. So if the petitioner filed for a wife and step shild each immigrant can have a secondary sponsor. They can be different. So the wife can user uncle Bob and the child uses Uncle Mark. If Uncle Mark is married and his wife that lives with him works she can join her income as part of the sponsoring household income.
