Good day, I'm Rhycca from Philippines married to an american last Oct.09 2012. My husband fly back to USA Oct. 11 then filed a Petition and submitted an I 130 to Chicago last Nov 5, 2012 a week after he receive the notice that our application was received and gives us the receipt number for us to check online our status. Last 2 weeks they ask for other documents and pictures to prove that we are really married. The following day my husband submitted such documents and photos during wedding but until now as I check the status of our case online it still in Initial Review status. My question and concern is How long does it take for us to know that our application was approve or not? How long does the spousal Visa takes? The latest processing. Some say it was 6 some 1 year and others 8 months.

Thank you and GOD bless

It can take from a month or less to over a year for the initial petition to be be approved so that you can move onto the second stage of the process. No one can give you an exact time frame because of the way the uscis is handling petitions. They send the petitions to local offices who can be fast or really slow. Nothing is linear (that is, a, b, c, d...) anymore. I'm sorry we can't be more specific for you.

There are plenty of topics already open on this subject, I suggest you look into those threads.

Processing times VARY and are not the same for any two people. The time frame can be anywhere from 5-8 months give or take a month or 2.

According to your timeline, it says: "Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between July 3, 2014 and July 10, 2014*."

I am unsure why your timeline says that because you say you filed your I-130 on 11/05/2012 and received your NOA1 on 11/09/2013 which is apparently wrong. Correct your timeline to get a better estimate.

NOTE: These are all ESTIMATES, not guarantees.

Thank you for the information. Yes I put the wrong date. It is suppose to be Nov. 09,2012 not Nov.09, 2013. I'm sorry. By the way how can I view the estimated date of processing I am new here. I don't know how. Like what you said that It was July of 2014

When you edit your timeline, it will automatically change the estimated processing date for you. You go to your own TIMELINE on your profile and you scroll down. You should be able to see it there.

No, cases from July 2012 are just now being processed, you are still within normal processing times. Your NOA1 was just in November. If you read your timeline it says based on estimates there should be a decision between July 3 and July 11 2013

Like mimolicious said, you still have some waiting to do. There are people who have waited 8 or 9 months that are just now getting approved. Try to be patient - you still have a ways to go. good.gif
