Hi

This is regarding Consular interview in Mumbai for immigrant VISA.

Should the packet-4 documents be sent to VFS Mumbai prior to the interview?

There is no mention about this in the appointment letter. But the VFS website has information about sending the documents ahead of the interview.

Also, the packet-4 instructions in the US consulate, Mumbai website states

"PLEASE NOTE: You must present to the VFS office a photocopy of the biographic page of your passport along with your passport; on the day of interview you must bring your original passport."

Thanks

Bala

It is so confusing, packet 4 doesn't mention anything about VFS and in CR-1 cases, all the originals are sent to NVC and photocopies. But VFS seem to still want the photocopies and logistic courier fee,I hope anyone who finished their interview recently could shed some light into this topic.

I read something from immi-help that I found but am not sure if its outdated information. According to them,on day of interview, you bring :

original passport

appointment letter

VFS logistic fee payment receipt

VFS acknowledgement receipt of submission of documents

Any inputs appreciated

Thank you!

I would like to know the answer to this one also. If anyone has an answer please do tell us. Thank you!

We called VFS and finally talked to someone who seem to know what she was talking abt. According to her,any documents on packet 4 that was not sent to NVC needs to be submitted. On page 4 of appt.letter, the list is provided and also mentions what needs to be brought to the interview. When asked specifically regarding biographic page of passport mentioned on packet 4 on consular website, she said if your letter doesn't mention it,ignore them. As for courier fee,she informed us that everything is included in IV fees and VFS will direct us on further proceedings on day of interview about any other fees. Hope this is it,please do share if you find anything elsewhere.

Thank you so much for sharing. It really helps. The only document I haven't submitted is the Passport Police Clearance. I ws told by NVC that it should be brought to the interview and not sumbitted at NVC. So does my husband have to sumbit the PCC to VFS on the day of interview or a few days before or do you just bring it to the interview and give it to the Immigration Officer when they ask for it? Do you have anything missing that you need to sumbit as well?

Does page 4 of your appointment letter tell you anything abt it. Vfs made it sound like if any documents need to be submitted,it has to be through them. I would inquire with them again, try their help desk, its easy to get hold of operator.

Page 4 says to bring any missing documents at the time of the interview. It says nothing about submitting it to the VFS at all. Perhaps in the past you had to but I don't think you have to now. I think I will have my husband bring it at the time of the interview and give it to the IO. What are you going to do? Submit it to VFS or bring it to the interview?
