Hello everyone,

Is it allowed to use contracted forms like Str., Ave., Apt. in G-325A and I-129F forms?

Have you done it? was that ok?

Thank you!

No you need to write out the full names of everything. Do not abbreviate words.

 I used "Ave." many times on my forms, I didn't get in trouble.

BUT, just to be safe, use the whole word and not abbreviations.

We don't want you to get denied because of that.

No you need to write out the full names of everything. Do not abbreviate words.

Where did you get this from? The standard formatting of addresses is to abbreviate. Try going to the USPS site and go to search for zip code and type in any address and they will show what the standardized version of it is.

Why would USCIS not let you use the standard formatting for addresses?

Because in the past people have come on here complaining that USCIS is mailing things to the wrong place due to the fact they wrote abbreviations on forms instead of full address.

People at USCIS are not very good at copying things over. Its always much safer to write out the WHOLE thing.

So did anyone actually write in g325a form contractions like ave. or str., apt.? Seems like just the word 'apartment' will take up all of the place.

Without abbreviating those, we ll need to make three attachment sheets for beneficiary's form, is it ok then?

Thank you all!

Yeah, I used St. in everything without a problem for the American one.

Only issue was in use st. th. for our apartment in Denmark - silly people thought st. meant street rather than "stue" which is the first/ground floor.

:o

YES you can use abbreviations, and for work addresses you need only list the city and state or country.

ie.

Residence

123 Main St., Anytown, TX USA

Work address:

AIG Co., Inc. Kiev UA Sales Rep.

OR

GM Corp., Detroit, MI USA assembler

YES, I used abbreviations wherever possible. No issues.

actual example

50 Let SSSR, 140 Apt. 37

Abbreviation for

"50 Years of the United Soviet Socialist Republic of Ukraine, House 140, Apartment 37"

How's THAT for an abbreviation.

Imagine that the consulate is now located on the street called "Aircraft Designer Igor Sikorski Avenue" and you see why it is necessary.

USCIS does not mail anything based on the addresses listed on the G-325a. Nothing.

Sometimes they make errors all by themselves, they are big boys and girls and they know how to #### up all on their own.

Your mailing address on the 129F should be stated in a way that will get mail to you. It should be stated exactly as you would state it to anyone who wants to mail you something.

USCIS does not mail anything to foreign addresses.

Is that the full name of the street? Kiev embassy just calls it I. Sikorski St. everywhere so I assume they say it's ok to abbreviate.
