Good day! I am helping some friends of mine buy their first car in NC. The wife is here on a work visa and the husband as here as a dependent and is not allowed to work so he has no SSN. We are going to buy the car on Monday. Can the car title be put in his name without an SSN or an ITIN number? His wife is working long hours as a nurse so it would be easier to complete the transaction in his name. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

08.10.11 Greencard in Hand (It was actually dated 07.29.11 my wife's birthday!!)

05.31.13 Check Cleared (We are on our way!)

06.11.13 Early Bio Metrics done today. No problems. (The actual appointment was scheduled for 06.28.2013)

I had a car registered in my name when I had no SSN. Ask at the car licensing office in your state though. Also know that if you help someone get a car by cosigning you are responsible for the payments if they don't make them, and it will also affect your credit score if they fail to repay the loan

Exactly 3 months from the day we got married till the day I had both SSN and GREENCARD in hand !

Day 1 01/22/2013 AOS package sent

Day 8 01/28/2013 NOA 1 received

Day 15 02/04/2013Biometrics appt letter for 2/25/2013

Day 16 02/05/2013 Succesful walk in biometrics 20 days early

Day 25 02/14/2013 USCIS status changed to Testing and Interview ready for interview scheduling

Day 31 02/20/2013 Email notification that my interview is scheduled for March 21st

Day 57 03/19/2013 EAD/AP card ordered

Day 59 03/21/2013 Interview at 10.30 am Seattle Approved

Day 67 03/29/ 2013 Greencard Arrived . Applied for SSN

Day 68 03/30/2013 EAD arrived

Day 74 04/03/2013 SSN card arrived

Eligible for ROC December 21st 2014

Thanks! I guess I will find out or sure tomorrow. They are paying cash or the car so no need to worry about cosigning. Thanks again!
