I think our case may have been expedited, but not because of any specific request we made. I received I129F approval from VSC one week after they received the petition. It made it through NVC and was on its way to Manila just two and a half weeks after I filed. Either VSC and NVC were all caught up that month, or someone thought we had everything in order? I guess I'll never know.

My wife's embassy interview was scheduled two months after Manila received the approved petition, a full two months ahead of when they originally told us it would be. I emailed the embassy asking when to expect the interview and it was scheduled two weeks after they replied to my inquiry.

All in all, it only took us two and a half months from the time I sent the petition to the time my fiancee (now my wife) received her visa. THe only cases I've seen move faster are military expedites.

Our luck didn't extend to AOS. We had to wait 11 months for approval.

So the answer is yes - expedites do happen, but it seems to be quite rare.

Your case wasn't expedited if you never requested it. But VSC is fast and you were clearly very lucky!!!

Rahma and I BOTH gave you VERY good advice - just because you didn't hear what you wanted to hear doesn't mean it wasn't good.

You need to REALLY understand the country with which you are dealing...

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

OP,

did you expidite your case yet? why not try first and let us know how that works out for you. General rule of thumb as most have responded here: must have a very convincing and undeniable proof to back up your story and answer the 1 million dollars question by the US Embassy in Casa: "WHY SHOULD WE EXPIDITE YOUR VISA APPLICATION WHEN THE 1000'S OF OTHERS ARE WAITING THEIR TURN"

With this in mind, let's put together a good story and try it out...everything is possible, just because the chance is slim, doesn't mean it can't happen.

Good luck!

So far, I haven't seen anything in your posts that would necessitate an expedite. Filing for one would add another red flag to your case that you don't need.

I'm also not sure what proof sex before marriage would have in Casa either. Morocco isn't as conservative as other countries in the ME/NA, but I can't imagine that it's something that people would want to talk about in public, and might raise some eyebrows.

My husband and I were apart for 4 years before we filed for the visa and 5 years before he got here. The seperation and waiting sucks, but we're a living testament that relationships do survive. If there's one thing we learned in the visa process, it's patience. Hopefully your time apart won't be too long, but some time is inevitable. It's the price we pay for loving a foreigner (F)

It may not have been expedited at VSC, but I'm pretty sure that it was expedited in Manila. We were told by the embassy in November 2004 that the interview would be scheduled for February 2005 at the earliest. Normally the embassy sets an interview date about a month ahead. In our case, one week after we visited the embassy to inquire, they scheduled the interview with less than a week's notice. My wife actually had to reschedule the interview because the notice didn't arrive in time. Even so, they were able to reschedule the interview 5 days after the one she missed.

The thing that really made me wonder is that the embassy sent me a personal email to let me know that they had approved her visa. How often does that happen?

HCMC never emailed USC anything, unless USC emails them first.... I don't believe Consulate/Embassy has the resource to email/notify petitioner that his beneficiary's visa was approved.

I'm not sure you'd want to expidite in your situation. According to your timeline, you've met quite recently. We had a recent case of a VJ member going through Morocco who had met her fiance online in May, met him in person in June or July, and then was interviewed in October. The consular denied them. One of the reasons was that they didn't believe the validity of the relationship, because they hadn't known each other long enough (If I remember correctly).

That was me but we meet through family, not online. Wait time is I guess important but I thin it is more to do with the time you meet before you filed.

Ahh, sorry, I forgot the exact specifics of your case. We haven't heard any updates from you in awhile. How are you doing? Have you gotten some congresspeoples involved in your case?

it prolly wasnt expedited anywhere if you didnt ask for it to be expediated then its not going to be. you went thru VSC and it is always the fastest to go thru, it was luck and the joy of going thru VERMONT :)

and ive never heard of the embassy emailing anyone with the visa approval, they must of just really liked you and your wife!

If you have records of meeting your finace in person, emails, phone record, so on then you can prove that this is a real relationship. It all depends on the interviewer as well, I do not think that there is a written statement anywhere that you should have been with your fiance for what period of time.

Just my 2 cents

No, there is no written statement, but from past experience of past VJ members going through Morocco, knowing each other for a short period of time can be a reason that they won't believe that a relationship is real, and as such, will deny the visa.
